this thing is going to cost 700 at least, and i love it, time to break this molde that consoles can't be priced at more than 600
I want it to get mass exposure, but at the same time I want it to be state of the art, cost be damned.

You think that's 33.5 TF single-issue shaders? 😅

I think that's dual-issue; the rumors are it's a 56 CU GPU. To hit 33.5 TF single-issue mode the clocks would need to be over 4.5 GHz and that's just NOT happening.

Most of the performance uplift is coming from other areas on the GPU like the PSSR secret sauce. If it's 16.75 TF single-issue (PS5 is 10.24 TF single-issue), then $599 seems like a realistic price point with all the other improvements (maybe better decompression bandwidth, faster RAM, more storage capacity, faster CPU etc.).

How can it be 33 TF and 45% faster than the base PS5? Is it the dual-issue fake teraflops or the bundling RT and raster power as TF?

Both are bullshit numbers. Everything else looks really good.

i dont believe this leak from MLID. 2-4x increased ray tracing performance is just not feasible. That means the PS5 Pro would be doing raytracing potentially better than a 3090, and at minimum better than a 3070Ti. I don't see how that's possible without making a huge die = extremely expensive.

But maybe the headline number is misleading in that a 2-4x increase in bvh traversal and ray intersection calcs doesn't necessarily mean a 2-4x improvement in framerate in RT workloads, so we'll have to see. People should be happy to see a 2x improvement, any more than that I feel is fantasy

We'll never hear about 12 Teraflops again. :ROFLMAO:

To think that in 4 years they pretty much released jack shit for it and got outclassed by the PS5 and now the PS5 Pro will be in another league.

You'd love it to break the mold so that consumers have to pay more? Damn, talk about being against your own self interests.

I saw on Gaf people mad that they don't think it will beat a 3080/4070, GPUs that cost more than $500. It's so weird how console hardware is judge completely differently by people and expected to do miracles.

PS5 is great value to this day even without pretty much any price cut and the PS5 Pro is likely going to offer even more value when it comes to hardware per $ spent.

You are the one making the incorrect assumption that paying less is always a good thing, that is what lead to trash like the Series S.

The PS5 Pro is a completely optional upgrade, why can't it cost $700 less than many PC GPUs that people talk so much about, praise so much and even compare much cheaper consoles to.

If you are all about paying the minimum amount of money than the PS5 Pro is probably not for you anyway.

No, I did not make that assumption, but you do you.

Sony have Cerny. Say what you want about the current direction of Playstation, but that man has continued to do the impossible since the launch of PS4.

It can't have 8gb of ram, impossible.
The PS4pro can't have twice the perf, impossible
The ps5 can't have an ssd that fast, impossible
The psvr2 can't run games better than a high end PC, impossible.

This is the guy who took Dolby to the cleaners by creating software and hardware to turn any speakers into 3D audio, for free, for no reason other than someone told him it was impossible.

I can see PS5Pro whooping all but the best cutting-edge PC's and it having better RT than anything on the market today.

The most valuable mind they have, and it’s not even close.
