I keep my External HDD plugged in the rear port with zero issues after the system's been on all day, so I mean... 
Has anyone looked into other factors? Proper ventilation? Cheap USB cables being used? Faulty console?

What is melting is the USB plug of the device the guy put on the console.
Seems like low quality USB materials… I mean the blue plastic is probably not adequate to support the heat of a USB port.
PS5 USB port is fine.
BTW why did he not use the USB-C port that don’t use these colorful plastics.

The USB plug they are using needs to have a very shit material to melt at PS5 heat.
It will happens the same in notebook USB that go at higher temperatures than PS5.
