As you should. I'll give my impressions when I get it and I'll mention whether or not I got motion sickness. I'm not sensitive to motion sickness at all but select games caused it which was surprising to me.
This might sound silly - but if I had VR on PC I really want to try the upcoming Among Us VR game. It's the perfect social game for such a platform and would make it much more fun and immersive.

I also think Horizon is a perfect universe for VR. Giant robot dinosaurs on tropical islands in VR sounds like a match made in haven. It's basically Sony's Avatar.

If there is ever a new Killzone game I think VR would work well for it too. And Racing games as well so GT Sports sounds like a natural fit. Hope these games are fun and play well.

Among us in VR from a 1st person perspective actually sounds really fun

Where it’s at.
I mean not really surprising - I don't know of any other significant VR devices that are coming out in the near future. I never tired PSVR, dunno if I go for PSVR2 but we will see. I still think the tech is into infancy and nowhere near where it needs to be and the affordability of it as well.
The PSVR 2 incorporates a few things that basically make it a big leap for VR quality and usability, and at a lower price than anything that comes close.

I'm super excited for PSVR2, but I haven't tried VR yet outside of Labo (lmao). Hopefully Nintendo does VR right at some point. Maybe a switch/quest 2 type of thing?
Only the naive expect Nintendo to do anything right when it comes to technology, and with Miyamoto's ignorant statements about VR, don't expect that until he's dead or gone.

I think they could do it. I think labo was an experiment on how low res of a display people could use.

A quest type device would be right in line with modern gimmick Nintendo.

Nintendo is a toymaker who cut every conceivable corner to maximize profit.

If they were to do VR, it'll either be in 20 years, or it will be so half-assed that it will make Google Cardboard look like real life.

Labo was an experiment to see if their fanboys would pay $50 for a few pieces of cardboard, and they proved they could take a dump and put a Mario hat on it and make bank.

Miyamoto HATES VR and has way too much influence in the company for any kind of serious effort into VR to be allowed to get any traction in product development, and by the time it went from concept to production any VR product made by Nintendo would be trash quality due to their addiction to corner-cutting and their sheer, naked greed.

And yet they did labo vr and added VR modes to several games including BOTW.

I don't think miyamoto has that much influence over games or hardware anymore.

My big issue with PSVR2 is the fact that it does still have a cable X_X

Then you’re being really dumb about it.

You can have wireless VR, you can have state-of-the-art tech or you can have reasonable pricing, but you can only have two of the three in a package.

Also, it’s one fucking USB-C cable, for fuck’s sake, man.

Why you're getting so worked up over someone's VR opinion?

Yeah, sorry for having standards for the amount of money I am spending? lol.

Whining about one wire isn’t standards, it’s displaying total ignorance about technology.
LOL. Pretty positive the Meta Quest 2 is a wireless headset that can power itself and is roughly around same price range as the PSVR2 if not cheaper these days at $399. These things already exist, it's only a matter of time till these headsets get more powerful and have less wires or none at all.

There is already a new VIVE headset that's coming this year for around a $1000 which is cheaper than Valve Index and can either be tethered or used completely wireless as well - https://www.vive.com/us/product/vive-xr-elite/overview/

Same price range, but nowhere near the resolution, no eye-tracking or foveated rendering.

Legendary ignorance.

Your stance is like saying a Fiat 500 can do what a Ferrari can do, because they’re both Italian cars.

How can an “Industry Veteran” be as ignorant as you are?

Meta has headset for 1500$ which is worst in spec than PSVR2. but it is wireless. so wireless cost 900$ extra.
how you imagine PSVR2 with all these features and wireless would cost? 1700$? 1500$?

it is realistic same as PS5 with 20TF for 299$

Yes, I understand that. That's why I keep saying that eventually tech will get a lot cheaper with time. PSVR2 is a great deal for what it is absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised if the next console generation or the one after that rather VR will be built internally with a headset included without any wires straight out of the box (At least for Sony) They could maybe 2 SKUs one where it's just the console and one where it comes with VR headset.

PS4 was a VR experiment
PS5 is the continuination of the console VR success and huge improvement

PS6 or PS7 will make VR a default inclusion/standard

It might take another decade or maybe even 2 but it will get there at some point.

I actually almost bought the Meta Quest 2, but I am gonna wait a bit longer for the next iteration of a mid range/affordable headset and a few more high profile VR titles before I make the plunge for myself.

From looking at the offerings at this year's CES, we are year's away from what you're looking for. HMD with the same or better specs compared to PSVR2 are significantly more expensive, in some cases multiple thousand dollars (for example the most advanced one is probably the Varjo X3 which comes in at a cool $6500). What you are failing to realize is that the VR ecosystem cannot sustain an environment where the barrier to entry is that expensive, and since sony is 99% likely to be taking a loss or barely breaking even on these devices, you're just SoL if you expect them to put out a pro-level wireless HMD which would likely cost an extra $500 minimum.
