PCMR on Reddit is having a moment of lucidity. They had to discuss the unfortunate reality of having issues such as the stuttergate, which is a particular problem for the niche engine UE4.

Read the comments below, do it fast. Tomorrow we will go back to the fantasy world where, according to PCMR people the only pc gamers that counts has a 4090, stuttergate doesn't exist, and fiddling around with config and mods to fix bugs and crash to deskop doesn't happen

Oh no, I'm in big trouble now. The self-proclaimed spokesman for the era pc community community is demanding I further explain the joke:

That the very name "PC Master Race" already implies a ranking system, with the RTX 4090 currently occupying the highest tier.

Luckily, just like vegans, he immediately needed to identify himself by stating his video card. I'm very relieved that we have established that the video card in question is of the latest generation. It might not be the top model 4090, but it was still more expensive than the PS5. We can rest assured he is better than those console peasants.

Seems the lucidity has worn off, and a link to a Reddit thread in the subreddit called "PC Master Race" where they were discussing their experiences has apparently never existed. Gaming is very serious, and I should be more careful in the future.

More remakes have been released than New IPs, a first in the 40 years of the console industry.

Fewer games, lower quality, higher prices, more flops and an industry relying on remakes. Sure isn't the best ever.

Nah. In the last 10 years there's been more new games then remakes. By a large margin. There's also so many good indie, double A games out there.

Strange how this is even a discussion tbh.

There are tens of new games coming out almost every week. Even AA/AAA still cranks out new stuff every month or so.

The volume is honestly too much, we've entered peak video games era (look up the peak TV thing in case you don't know what I'm referring to).

How long has this generation gone on for?

If you're counting PC then there's always more new games. For consoles though, not much

Sure, if you don't like AAA then by all means go do indies alone.

Indies have been so plentiful, you can literally get them by the bucketful.

I think a lot of gamers have fallen into the trap of focusing on what they don't like, that a lot of stuff that they like passes them by.

I was discussing two issues in parallel and got lost in it.

PC gaming has always been good. Console gaming is shite this gen. AAA is slop and having a rough time with fainting from huffing too many of their own farts.

Indies are largely pretentious shite. B tier and A tier games are where the fun is, IMO. (Depending how you classify games like Divinity, For the king and Pathfinder)

I've lived long enough to remember a time when top tier games were dropped monthly, with new IPs coming thick and fast. When £40 would buy a day one game, when E3 was fun and exciting.

If you're happy to be brow beat by extremists and have political messaging taking centre stage over good games then you have no place telling others what is good or bad.

Imagine being a grown person and not realizing that tastes vary. You are doing nothing but proving my point, you are the definition of jaded, and you've also latched on to the "agenda" bullshit that serves no purpose but to make people angry and find every and any little thing to complain about. I have my own opinions and seeing something told by someone else the way they wanted to tell it is not a threat to me, or my enjoyment of media.

In a way, people like you shouldn't deserve enjoyment anyway so I can't say I feel bad for you. Life changes and you are jaded, old and decaying.
