LOL it’s bullshit that saying Redfall should have been cancelled and that Forspoken isn’t a turd. They’re both shit games through and through. Sony shills really throwing a fit ITT over any mention of PoorSpoken.
According to the conspiracy theory of the Iconera 'Sony is doomed' haters maybe, according to some of them it even has been cancelled.I don't remember Tears of the Kingdom having such development problems that necessitated a delay to salvage the project. Same goes for Ragnarok, GT7 and HFW. But, that's what has apparently happened with Factions 2. Deny the difference as much as you want but it's there.
They are GaaS like the upcoming ones. GaaS can be even full offline single player games. GaaS only means that after launch they plan -as long as it makes sense- to keep supporting it with new content, features, fixes and will keep tweaking the project to one direction or another depending on metrics and feedback.LBP, LBP2, GT7, and the MLB games are more 'traditional' single-player/co-op games with live-service elements and MP included. You can play them perfectly fine without ever needing to go online (outside of patch updates).
You not personally liking a game doesn't make it unsuccessful. It had over 40 millions of players and was a very profitable project so yes, it was successful and popular.PlayStation Home was not necessarily "successful"; the idea was great and so was the implementation, but it never blew up into anything super-popular and I think had it been a better commercial success, Sony would have continued it with the PS4. Destiny 2 is an inherited success of Bungie's making, can't credit that one to Sony.
That is why I used the word "Solely"... Why do so many of you here only read and interpret what suits your argument?Who are all these dormant accounts coming up suddenly. Are we infested by bots?
They used it as their big one more thing game and show opener, first $70 game next-gen showcase. They should get some responsibility, no?
Read the whole article, all Bethesda's fault. They pushed GaaS and MTX before the project was greenlit and, at worst, Microsoft took no action and let things continue after the purchase.Oh fawkkkk, that's insane and sad...
Look at what consolidation / acquisitions do to the industry.... look at your work Microsoft!
Took no action for multiple years, promoted the game as their second biggest release of the year and allowed it to release as is.Read the whole article, all Bethesda's fault. Are we complaining about how it sucked or how it was tough on the team? Because, based on OP's title, I was assuming the later.Took no action for multiple years, promoted the game as their second biggest release of the year and allowed it to release as is.
Blameless.
The game looked like shit from the first time it was shown I never understood the marketing behind this game and the expectation of Xbox fans. It would be like some PlayStation fan being hyped about Fairgame$.
But the game was never announced by Bethesda. Microsoft could've cancelled it when the devs told them they were unhappy and nobody would know. Instead they chose to use it as their big tentpole in their showcase putting even more pressure on the devs.Read the whole article, all Bethesda's fault. And? Public announcement isn't the most important facet of a game's development. Bryan said "Look at what consolidation / acquisitions do to the industry.... look at your work Microsoft!" But what are they supposed to look at? Bethesda did the most damage by pushing the team to go for a GaaS and then approving the game. If Microsoft had aborted Redfall in the womb you all would be mad at them and saying the same thing, "look what acquisitions do to the industry." Microsoft went out of its way to not cancel the project, despite it being from a team that was new to the genre and who's games always struggle at market. Thats not an indictment of acquisitions, its an endorsement of them. But the game was never announced by Bethesda. They even had cameras in the studio for a developer direct and interviews. Everybody could tell something was wrong with that shitty game.
how old are you ? 5? WTF?Read the whole article, all Bethesda's fault. They pushed GaaS and MTX before the project was greenlit and, at worst, Microsoft took no action and let things continue after the purchase.
Peepee, poopoo, thats not me, that is you.how old are you ? 5? WTF?
And that’s why it’s MS’s fault. They’re the owner and they did nothing.Read the whole article, all Bethesda's fault. They pushed GaaS and MTX before the project was greenlit and, at worst, Microsoft took no action and let things continue after the purchase.
I don't think so because we didn't know what Redfall was until it was announced on Xbox showcase, months after the acquisition was announced. If Microsoft had aborted Redfall in the womb you all would be mad at them and saying the same thing, "look what acquisitions do to the industry." Microsoft went out of its way to not cancel the project
