Meh, code Veronica remake or bust. Hopefully they don't bundle this game with a multiplayer game no one wants like they did in the past.

Wait! Isn't the team working on Pragmata after village ? The 2nd team just released RE4 remake. The DMC team is working on Dragon's Dogma. Who's working on this fucking game? The RE3 remake team?

Yes, in the Capcom leaked roadmap document after SF6, Exoprimal, Pragmata, Dragon's Dogma 2, a new Onimusha and Monster Hunter 6 there was planned a project codenamed "Bio Hazard Apocalypse".

But this name is a codename, in the same way that the Village DLC appeared in the document codenamed as "Bio Hazard Outrage" (mistranslated by the leaker as Resident Evil Outbreak), or Pragmata appears codenamed as "Regolith", or Exoprimal appears codenamed as "Shield".

Seems that again, as when some fan said that "Resident Evil Outbreak" was coming after watching the leak and even included in the Nvidia database, another fan thought that "Resident Evil Apocalypse" was going to be the real name of the next RE game, which pretty likely will be RE9 unless they want to make another spinoff, multiplayer game or something like that before.

They are busy with a lot of games. They have basically two divisions: one where they make Monster Hunter, the fighting games and retro games. And the other one where they make everything else. Many people move from a project to another as needed, even between these two divisions, and they also have many external outsourcing studios helping in all projects.

RE2R had two game directors, and RE3R had three. Only one of them worked on both, the other ones didn't release a new game. Village was directed by another guy, a REVII designer. None of them is the REVII director, who hasn't been credited in any game since REVII. RE2R and RE3R had two art directors each. One of them repeated in Village, the other one on its DLC. Village had a different one. REVII had 3 art directors: one is the lead level designer of Village, other one (previously RE6 art director) later was a Village concept artist and the other one became Senior Project Manager in RE2R, RE3R and Capcom Arcade Stadium.

I don't know if any of them worked in RE4, its game credits still aren't uploaded to mobygames.

Some of the people under them, like game designers or artists worked on games like DMC5, Capcom Arcade Stadium, RE Village or Monster Hunter Rise or World. There isn't a clear pattern, they aren't split in separate tracks: seems that when someone is done working in a game moves to another game who needs someone in that role independently of almost everything.

I just hope they pivot from what 8 did. We've already been down this action oriented road and it didn't end well.

Going through credits :
The RE2 remake team abd directors are the same for RE4 remake
The RE7 people are mostly the same as RE village
RE3 remake are almost entirely different team.
So they basically have 3 teams working on RE titles with some people jumping in and out as you already said.

I have a feeling it will be a big finale-type game similar to Resident Evil 6. A bunch of main characters (including Chris and Jill) returning, classic zombies, E-series, corrupted BSAA and Blue Umbrella, possible Wesker return, The Connections, ETC.

Yes, Village was very inconsistent experience. The Chris chapter was total garbage.
Yep, as much as I love my boy Chris, making his stages straight Rambo nonsense completely deflates the game. I want Capcom to go more towards Survival Horror and less Action COD Horror.

Will see what happens with 9.

I hope they go the RE2 remake route in making RE9. Or bring a mix of RE2 remake and RE4 remake. Enemies with less guns and more undead instead. Enemies using guns, turrets and driving tanks make the game feels very generic.

Does anyone else think this title and logo is … terrible?

I give it a pass for Village simply because it works better in both presentation and not butchering language.

This just makes it feel campy. I don’t like it.

There must be a better/closer comparison point within gaming that I'm not familiar with.... like I don't get those Raid/Mercenaries modes, I think they're hoard modes.

But I really like Division's overworld, and going into specific locations to play a certain mission. I consider RE ORC to be essentially a prototype Division. RE could have a Racoon City overworld and jump into missions.

I agree, but I didn't fancy an upside-down giraffe blowjob either tbf

I don't think this is the real logo
