I'm curious to see if Sony can actually get a deal done. Everytime theirs a rumor they're about to buy something, they don't get the deal done.
Like I said. They’re like the guy that gets the date with the hot girl, but ends up not getting her. Lol They got Bungie, because they’re been passed around and no one wanted them for the price they were asking.

It's not really that ironic at all. Whether you buy a Playstation, Switch, Xbox, or specialized gaming PC, they're all fundamentally computers. Brand affinity exists within every market, except those under a true monopoly.

You'd anticipate that some people would prefer the Epic Games store, while others prefer Steam. Even within this space, you have platforms trying to implement exclusives like Alan Wake 2 on Epic.
So when you eat bread, you are just another alcoholic? Okey, got you 😂
So, PC Gamers are ironically doing the same as console warring, but just with launchers, instead of platforms.
It is way worse than console warring, APP warriors most ridiculous shit, even xbots aren't that pathetic.

I don't drink with my bread, but when I do eat, I'm preferable to a good sourdough or whole grain.

In the Summer, I lean towards Ciabatta, because it holds together really well for sandwiches.

What's your bread of choice?
I didn't ask if you drink with your bread, did i!? (Just a rhetorical question) Okey, it went over you head, got you.

Their is nothing concrete. They're still discussing it. Nothing firm. Could fall apart.

It is NOT a rumour like you claimed earlier.

Don’t try to move the goalposts.

We all know it is not concrete until it is.

Sure it's a leak. Leaks and rumors are kind of the same thing. This deal isn't concrete. They can walk away anytime.

I have come to despise Nintendo fanboys as well as Xbots for showing their true colors as they want the Japanese government to block this acquisition. This is why I'm on Sony's side because unlike Nintendo and Microsoft, Sony doesn't have toxic fanboys.

Every fandom has toxic fanboys but Nintendo fanboys used to be much more tolerable during the Wii/Wii U days. 😁

Sony has had two major M&A deals fall through in the last year.

Paramount and Zee Entertainment.

Both fell apart for pretty specific reasons and were far more complex than the M&A for Kadokawa.

Paramount was a company Sony didn't want to own in its entirety on top of taking on their mountain of debt and having to do so with Apollo to get it done. Sony didn't want to jump into streaming and I don't think there was much value in buying Paramount today without continuing Paramount+.

These situations come around, though. I wouldn't be surprised if Paramount if back on the market in 5-10 years or if certain parts of it are sold.

Zee Entertainment was a great opportunity, but there was a lot of shady stuff behind the scenes that ultimately Sony didn't want to get into bed with.

I'll add a caveat that it does look like Sony was beaten out by Blackstone for Mecha Comics.

So it's not entirely inaccurate to say that Sony is on a bit of a losing streak. They might need to bring in different talent around M&A, but this is one that I think made sense and was a long time coming. I think Paramount was on the market and they had to look. I think they also had to take a look at getting bigger in India, but that company they weren't going to own outright, it was going to be like 51 percent ownership. Them losing out to Blackstone is maybe the only real L there.

The delusional green rats over on XboxEra are pathetically clinging to the hope that Microsoft might swoop in and buy Kadokawa.

Just to be clear, Sony never was supposed or even was rumored to be acuiring Bethesda. The rumor was -I'd say later got confirmed- that Sony was going to sign a deal for Starfield (not sure if a marketing one or if a timed console exclusive, I'd say it was a timed console exclusive).

But then MS acquired them and made it Xbox timed console exclusive instead.

So, what's the expected timeline for this?

Before Christmas?
My bet is that their original plan was to announce the acquisition agreement for the 30th anniversary, early December.

It's also the 30th anniversary of the Kadokawa + PlayStation collaboration since they were there since the Japanese PS1 launch year.

According to Endymion (YouTuber) there is currently a civil war inside Sony between the Japanese and American side. Basically Japan wants to go back to the traditional non woke way and America wants to double down on the woke insanity. However America has had a lot of under performing games lately so that is giving Japan a lot of leverage.

Apparently, this deal is away for Sony Japan to go back to the traditional way capitalizing on from software. I know it’s all a rumor from a YouTuber, but I think he’s been around long enough and I feel like just looking from the outside and this kind of adds up.

it also, not the first time it happened inside Playstation. i hope, this time Japan will win and they shift away from west.

at this point in time, gamers resonate more with east culture. so it should be great shift.
