Personally, I believe that Sony will keep all the studios/games multi-platform as they are because imagine Elden Ring not being cross-gen and multi-platform. It doesn't get anywhere near the 25m copies it has sold. Sony isn't going to give up all that extra revenue and profit which mostly comes from the gaming aspect of Kadokawa.

Also, all of Microsoft's studios have been far better than they ever have been for me. No way in hell would I ever take what they were pre-Microsoft to what they are now. I'm finally getting so many games that I actually want to play where as before, it was barely any and if I subtract Gears of War, jeez, it was a disaster for me.

It's funny, PlayStation/Xbox fans are upset or whatever and yet, here I sit the happiest I have ever been with both Sony and Microsoft!!! 😂

Respect your opinion but does that include Rare?

Make the same argument but with Spider-Man 2 and explain why it isn't on Xbox One and Xbox Series. Or God of War and Ragnarok, or Horizon... I mean how exactly are these different?

I'll even throw in FF7 Remake and Rebirth which they PAID to make exclusive...

Xbox output is literally worse than ever. The fuck am I reading. Only thing that makes sense if this dude started playing games on Xbox One and was dropped on his head as a baby. None of this compares to even the OG console.

Xbox has been a dumpster fire since halfway thru the 360 gen.

Sony already has 2 games with them exclusives. Demons Souls and Bloodborne with a possibly another game they’re working on together.

Why wouldn’t that continue? FS’s current IP’s like Elden Ring yeah that will maybe stay day one with PC and Xbox but even that is a big maybe seeing how Sony didn’t even put Lego Horizon on Xbox.
there first game on the PlayStation 1 king's field was also exclusive and was a dungeon crawler

From Software has had exclusive games for Nintendo and Xbox.

I first discovered them with Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2 on the GameCube for instance. There was also Otogi on the original Xbox. Neither were on PlayStation.

But it’s no doubt whatsoever that Demon’s Souls was their breakout game onto the main stage.

The industry doesn’t need or care for Xbox anymore. They can keep it Pc and PlayStation and still hit 30 million. Same goes for Bungie or MLB. Xbox is dead platform that doesn’t have a sizable audience of actual paying consumers. No longer worth it so none of that debate matters. It’s over bruh

those probably came after but their first ever was king's field on PS1 followed by 2 they ditched PC cause they thought PS1 was stronger

They told us their issue was that Sony wasn't upfront about the PSN login with Helldivers 2 prior to launch of the game well now that Sony has been up front about what needs a PSN login requirement after that whole ordeal these dudes are still mad about needing to have a PSN login. Lol. They get mad at a free launcher or a free login account like they're so insecure.
PSN has had 2 big hacks the last decade or so. So yeah. Fuck that requirement under the guise of safety.

Steam is hacked 77 Thousands a month. so yeah, extra layer of security from others are necessary for security reason.

or you gonna ignore all of that, just because.. reasons!

The 2011 PlayStation Network outage (sometimes referred to as the PSN Hack) was the result of an "external intrusion" on Sony's PlayStation Network and Qriocity services, in which personal details from approximately 77 million accounts were compromised and prevented users of PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable ...

77 MILLION. That's 1000 months of Steam data.
Even if we start counting from that moment onwards to now, Sony's hack is still bigger then all months since that x77k of Steam.

They even had to take down PSN for a month. Im willing to bet those 77k a month steam, 95% of those don't have proper security and thats on the user.

Sony cant pull the safety card for this one, come on! They should just be transparant as to what its for: Metrics and engagement numbers.
Why lie? This puts off lots of people.

Not 1 single platform is safe, but Im willing to bet Steam is the safer place still.

I have a PSN account, so I don't care much but dont lie in the face of your possible future consumers...

PSN is only needed for Sony's metrics and spreadsheet fillers. And I totally get that.
So please understand why I'm sceptical of their intentions. :)

If im missing something, please point it out. ;)

Likewise, don’t try to pull the hack card. Steam isn’t safer.

It is pretty obvious why Sony wants people logging into PSN account.

It’s the same reason other publishers do so.

What’s there to be transparent about. You want Sony to make an official statement?

All im saying is PSN isn't holy. No platform is, but that's not the point of the conversation here. Hell im willing to bet EA play is a swiss cheese.....

But that's just my 2 cents.

Personally I dont care how many accounts I need.
Hell I have one for:

Xbox Gamepass
EA Play (shame on me 1.0)
Ubi (shame on me 2.0)
Epic
Steam
PSN

So I dont get the fuss about needing a PSN account at all but Sony is being a bit of a PR dick by stating its for security.
Thats all im saying.

NO platform is safe, none. And in this day and age you need accounts for access. 75% of account security is down to the user. MFA, not giving actual REAL information about yourself, using different passwords and/or emailadresses for everything or most, 3 easy ways to minimize the risk.

Why people act surprised is beyond me.
And not making a PSN account just because someone thinks its a hassle, fine, miss out. It takes 2-5 minutes to make a basic PSN account. People moaning about this requirement are just lazy and hypocrite.

first, it was in 2011. are you in 2011 or are you in 2024 and keep regurgitating the same talking point for 13 years?

upon hack, PSN was immediately taken out. i can't recall from that time anything which resulted in actual account hacks, especially 77k monthly.

while i agree that there is no one safe. and i can bet, that PSN+Xbox+Nintendo is way less hacked than STEAM, and by definition it would mean, that those platforms are way safer.

while i can fully agree, that Playstation can be doing it for other reasons than Security(telemetric etc), the point still stands and we can use Security as an argument as it can be legit reason.

When you put it like that, you're giving me a fucking hard time finding something to counter this with. 😅I hate logic. Especially in the weekends.

Why make my life difficult? What have I done to you!?

In all seriousness I think we can all agree that not buying a game because you need 1 extra little signup is just nitpicking?
It's a digital world, with it come certain aspects.

It's not the age of cartridges anymore.

yeah, it is highly weird, when you use OS (which spying on you) to log into 3rd party App and then gatekeeping it from other 3rd party apps.

when i was primarily gaming on PC, it was least of my problems on PC.

i can go even extra mile, and say, it is as pathetic, as Xbots crying over 1 Screw on PS5. 🤷‍♂️

Basically this yeah. 😀
Just lock your shit down with proper 2FA and a randomised password of 12 chars minimum per account, use a password safe etc and you're good to go.

Some Russian once hacked my EA account right at the moment I was logged in. I refreshed and he already altered the name. But not the password, the stupid Orc.

So I swiftly changed the PW first, logged back in to make sure it was safe and then I added MFA and changed the emailadress. Learned a valuable lesson that day. (this was 1 day after EA dataleak back in 2014).

Investors and analysts have told me that, Kadokawa's current market capitalization is about 600 billion yen, but that the top creators at FromSoftware alone are worth about 200 to 300 billion yen.

It is way less… more like 1/4 than 1/2.

From Software is around 1/4 of the Kadowaka’s market value.

~$900m from the the $3-4b.

PS. And that is after Elden Ring that has to break the bubble to become popular…. before it was like half ($400-500m).
