The game is underperforming but we don't need to invent fake numbers. It is below 2 millions for sure. This is low for a Bioware RPG.
Disappointing if true as it's a great action adventure game. 32+ hours into the game as of now, it's looking like an easy 9.0/10 minimum for me. My biggest negatives are the massive skill tree for your character, the companions don't argue/fight as there's no real conflict since they all seem to be on the same page in trying to accomplish their main goal which I won't spoil. And you can't swim. If the water is deep, you drown and respawn right where you went into the water.
Visually, game looks great, love the art style and the environments are excellent. Good sound effects, great voice acting and a banger soundtrack especially during the main story quest line. Combat and gameplay is very satisfying even though I should have played on a higher difficulty level as im not really having any issues for the most part. Story and characters have been great thus far. It's definitely light toned instead of dark toned but still enjoying it and I like all the characters and companions thus far. Only have one left to unlock which is the companion that most seemed to have an issue with due to the writing around the character.
It's definitely in the running to be my 2024 game of the year along with Stellar Blade and the only other game that I expect to be in the running for me is the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle which im really looking forward to.

As far as I have been tracking the game is doing slightly better than Outlaws, I expect a 1.5 million sales in a month which is 500k more than Outlaws.
Its hilarious that Trump winning would be the reason for Bioware not getting shuttered, the interest rates will go down and the corporate pigs like EA, Sony, Xbox will again pig out on loaned money. If interest rates go down then Bioware sticks around till the new mass effect otherwise I see at least 150-250 people being laid off

EA have announced no DLC for veil guard and Bioware have already moved on to making Mass Effect 5.
Another franchise that can be further ran into the ground by talentless man children.

I don't want any art, narrative or dialogue related dev from Veilguard to touch the Mass Effect franchise with a 10 feet pole. Ruining Dragon Age was one too many.

Sony didn't talk about Astro Bot sales for over two months after release, then came out to say that it sold 1.5m copies in 9 weeks (in an official investor slide no less, which tells you how happy they were with the results).
