Yes, I hate that they pretend like 3rd party exclusives don't matter or aren't important, when 3rd party exclusives are the only reason Xbox was ever relevant. Games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Alan Wake, Blue Dragon, Oblivion, Crackdown, etc. Even Gears and Halo were technically 3rd party exclusives.

3rd party exclusives will always be important and major pillars of a consoles success.

There is definitely a double standard becuase everyone praises Nintendos release cadence and half their games are by 3rd party studios

Nintendo gets away with everything, they have literally 10x more Square Enix exclusives than Sony, they get several Square exclusives every year. Yet all we hear about is how Sony is evil and anti consumer for keeping FF7Remake and FF16 off of Xbox 😒

That's why I doubt Sony will ever buy them, they're much too involved with Nintendo.

And not to mention another 1/4th of those are remakes or remasters 😑

Why would he know?
I think he only knows the same than us.

But as we know, Sony for 2024 has Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, Convallaria, Lost Soul Aside, Helldivers 2 and Concord, plus TBA games that could or couldn't be 2024 games like Wolverine (I think it may be a late 2024 / early 2025 title), Death Stranding 2 (I think it will be a 2025 game) or Marathon.

And who knows, there may be some 2024 unannounced game as the next Team Asobi game, Cory's SSM new IP, a Firesprite game, the Ballistic Moon game, some 2nd party VR game, some extra China Hero Project game, etc.

On the 3rd party side there's exlcusives like FFVII Rebirth, Silent Hill, Granblue Fantasy Relink, etc.

It's like Sony DOESN'T want to market It's games. Why have they been so silent about their 2024 line-up?

This is just really weird
This is bullshit, I don't understand why people like you act as if the State of Plays and other events, PlayStation Blog, PS's youtube and social media, tv and online ads wouldn't exist.

They released a shit ton of things in 2023 they had to market (plus 2023 3rd party stuff). And had more and bigger things in 2022. Things that they obviously had to market before the 2024 releases.

Above I mentioned list of some of the 2024 things they already marketed, and now that their 2022 and 2023 stuff is out they'll obviosly focus on their 2024 stuff.

Kojima’s trailers can be bogus representations of his games but that last trailer had me thinking it’s far along… I think the game is coming in 24 barring some development issue.

Halo wasn’t ever third-party, MS bought Bungie when the game was in development as something a lot more ambitious and forced Bungie to hack everything original, ambitious and cool out of it to meet Xbox launch, and even then they had to make you run through the game twice to pad it to decent length.

Hell, MS bought Bungie to keep the original Halo off the PS2, as a port had already been announced just before the buyout.

Exactly, that’s why I said technically 3rd party exclusives 😂 It’s a 1st party game that Xbox had very little to do with. Most of Halo was complete before Xbox acquired them and the game was set to release on Macintosh. After Bungie left Xbox, they had a Halo game in development for the DS until Xbox put a stop to it. I wish it never got money hatted and stayed on the Mac, the world would be very different right now.

This tweet does not say what you think it says.

Ahh, whats the point. Whole thread is full of people saying dumb shit. Look everyone it's your favorite third parties, 2000s era Retro and Bungie!

What was complete of Halo was all trashed. What released on Xbox was a quickie rush job that started development in September 2000.

and that's why nintendo is so profitable and can output so many games so quickly. Sony needs to continue their 2nd party strategy, preferably with more attractive IP than rise of the ronin and stellar blade, but it's a start.

2024 sony once again seems to be relying on final fantasy and insomniac/marvel to save them.

They have multiple 2nd party games though

Rise of The Ronin- Team Ninja
Stellar Blade - Shift Up
Helldivers 2 - Arrowhead
Death Stranding 2 - Kojima Productions

China Hero Projects
India Hero Projects

They’re also marketing a bunch of console exclusive indie games. I’ll take that over trash like Warioware or Detective pikachu

I spoke about those games in the post you're replying to, that's why I said sony needs to continue that. Though none of Sony's second party's games have any mainstream appeal and will likely do low to mid sales. Also helldivers 2 is on PC as well so I will not applaud sony for that.

We’re comparing them to Nintendos 2nd party games which a lot of them also don’t have mass market appeal, hence the sales for things like Warioware and advanced wars.

Are we talking about selling games or are we talking about providing more quality gaming experiences through partnerships, because both sony and nintendo are doing the same thing in that regard.

Nintendo has like over 50 switch games that have sold over a million, so in that case a few duds are expected.

But anyways I don't care to talk about nintendo's 2nd party strategy that much, it was just to prove a point that that's how they're so efficient. Sony's 2024 is filled with Xbox level shit tier games besides Wolverine, so a lot of people pretending like they have some god tier line up is pure copium. Even final fantasy doesn't light the roof on fire sales wise anymore.

Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade are right up my alley, as is Final Fantasy, but some here aren't able to do anything but complain, worry over hypotheticals and convince themselves that death is near.
