I'm not a fan of kissing Kojima's ass because the internet says to, his games are okay, with the only reason i'm excited for DS2 is to see the Decima engine again. Neither team ninja or kojima have had a huge seller lately either, so yes they're xbox level, meaning mid level games that will do mid level sales.
Death Stranding 2 will sell better than FF16… speaking of mid tier.
With that said, DS2 alone makes 24 a better year for PlayStation exclusives than this one…

I have deja vu about arguing about Death Stranding's success on this forum so I'll leave it at DS2 is actually the only game i'm excited for from Sony in 2024.
Doing some research it definitely did very well for 505 games on PC, and the PS4 version sold well enough to secure funding for DS2 so that's good. But unless DS2 has some Baldur's Gate Bear sex level of viral marketing, the IP is just won't be a system seller in 2024. Which is really what i mean when I talk about Sony having an xbox tier list for next year.
Considering Death Stranding is better than the crap Xbox released this year, it would still not be an Xbox tier list. I'd rather 1 death stranding than 4 Starfield.

As long as they all do well enough so that they keep making more of those types of games, that's what's really important.
Are we expecting the sequel to be the same kind of game? I cannot fathom them going postman simulator again. I’m kinda expecting an action game this time….
I'm sure there will be more of an action slant. I just mean, that Kojima wackiness and uniqueness that he brings and how it is realized with a big budget behind it.
Death stranding is not the sales juggernaut y'all think it is. death stranding needed multiple years + a pc release + deep discounts to get to 5 million sold. FF16 sold 3 million in 7 days at $69.99. if death stranding 2 can do ff16 numbers then it is already better than the last game.
And idc how many people take offense to me calling Sony's 2024 xbox tier, because it is. Rise of the ronin looks like a knockoff Ghost of Tsushima, and stellar blade looks like generic action game #100. Both of those could launch on gamepass and I wouldn't be surprised. Sane people should not want playstation to rely on final fantasy and Marvel every year.

Who cares as long as the games are fun? I’ve been playing final fantasy for over 25 years, why would i ahve a problem with final fantasy being the big playstation exclusive now? Its a franchise that has literally defined playstation since the original and its been bigger than sonys own games up until just recently.
The only reason any of you care about this is because you can’t use it in list wars on twitter to stick it to xbox because its not first party. If playstation is the only place where i can play a new FF game thats where I’ll always play games
One extreme or the next with you. Ronin looks like they took more inspiration from Sekiro to me either way imagine thinking these games look like Game Pass fodder is crazy.
Speaking of, 2024 could be the time for TLOU2 Remaster/Director Cut/AKA Give more money edition coming out on PS5/PC
I have a feeling that Gaas project was converted to a standard multiplayer component on top of the campaign for Part 2.
I hope that if that comes out, it has some sort of story expansion.
Or a spin-off game with a multiplayer component.
