They needed access to PlayStation's users to keep engagement on their platform high, and invented a corporate persona where they only wanted all users to be able to play together in harmony, without those pesky barriers Xbox had a hand in constructing.
These pleas came, of course, after Microsoft refused to allow crossplay from a position of relative power during their Xbox 360 days, leading to FFXIV skipping the platform entirely:
But their hypocrisy should surprise no one and it's time to punish them for it.
With multiplatform, multiplayer titles selling 3-8 times better on PlayStation 5 than on Xbox, in every territory, across every genre, is it time that Sony cut off the #GangGreen that is the Xbox community and started afresh?
