FY2023 = April 2023 to March 2024.
I think Switch come close... around 28 million in a year.... the 30 million seems like made up.
I believe they are on track to 18.5 million this FY.
I believe it will be better in FY2023 around 22-25m (that is what PS consoles peaked in the past) but 30m is really fallacy imo until Sony confirms it as forecast at end of FY.

18.5M this year. They are also just really hitting good production numbers around August.
If they get a slim out, I think it is doable. It is ambitious though.
If they even got 25 million plus out in a single year it would be a great achievement though.
They can sell even more than that.
The issue is everything else... chip production, parts supply, manufacture, distribution, etc etc etc.
Sony doesn't have a distribution chain for 30 million consoles.... they can increase it temporary to reach 30 million next year? Yes they can... but normally you do that when you are sure you will at least hit that target for some years.

But in respect of not being fair and taking your comment as serious… do you realize Sony never crossed 25 million shipments for consoles even with the utmost effort? It is not a easy task to ship that much consoles and yes they need to increase man power in all front to that including distribution.
Consoles won’t fly by themselves to consumer hands or use storks.
