did not read the whole thing, but there must not be much in the way of storage either. So maybe a good collection of 8\16-bit cart games can be put on there (no CD games, unless you want very few).

Similar Android handhelds can do consoles up to N64, with N64 having imperfect performance, and handhelds up to PSP, but again with imperfect results in demanding games.

That's a really bad misrepresentation of what was said. Nowhere is it said that they didn't expect or want profitability, it states clearly that profit was SECONDARY to the goal of increasing engagement.

My guess is that with cellphones and tablets taking more and more screentime away from traditional activities like TV and console gaming that they wanted a device that would help maintain console gaming in their userbase's mindshare. For example google says that the average American uses their phone in excess of 4 hours a day. Sony's calculus is to give ps5 users an alternative outlet for that screentime.

The article explicitly said they did not expect the Device to be as profitable as it was. I also did not say Sony could not make money off the product they’re selling. Also phone vs console consumers are two different kinds of consumers And you Could stream fortnite or genshin through this device though I wonder if the latency would be worth it.

Nothing experimental in nature as Sony innovated and pushed remote play for years since PS3 days, this was organically the next step and evolution. Could not disagree more.

A “portable” ps5 is an Upgrade over the vita/psp? They could just manufacture more of those instead. I remember hearing about the vita (I think psp as well) having this feature. I don’t know What the problem was with the feature though I don’t know if it even took off.

YOu have you use heat gun on the screen to disassembly. These are never ok
As soon as battery swells a bit, your screen is gone.

I was already malding enough over dualsense not having battery door but this thing goes 2 levels deeper... and in dualsense it's just 2 screws and battery is out. Here it's glued there...
