You do know Playstation uses Azure cloud for streaming which is owned by Microsoft?
I know this dude is just trolling but for posterity no, Sony uses AWS and not Azure for PSN, including streaming.

Correct! They had a deal for Azure but it seems like it may have not materialised.

before people like Yurinka and Mibu say that Sony is doing a great job, that's not the case 👇
You can ignore the reality and facts they explained in this presentation very clearly, as the others they kept sharing every quarter and year, but:

As they said it's the most profitable generation for them -so far this gen generated the same profit than all the previous generations combined- and the one where they also make way more revenue. Plus also the one where they have been growing in basically all KPIs and areas going beyond their records.

Sony's profit would have been higher in recent years, but they decided to reinvest a lot of the money they made on growing the manpower of their studios and acquire more teams. And there's also the issue of the inflation/covid increasing the component costs of hardware (plus even if they don't mention it, shipments). So it would be bigger than it seems.

And well, each one on their own way, PS2, PS3, PSP, and Vita had their own type of BC. And live service games have been there in console since the PS3 generation but in the PS4 became more important: in fact they are the main reason of why there's a record number of active users still engaged on PS4 that still haven't upgraded to PS5.

Live services have been a huge and key part of gaming since many years ago, specially in mobile and also (in fact they started there) on PC. To say they shouldn't count as excuse trying to downplay the generation PS5 success with a cherrypicking is nonsensical, it would be that since first party games are the main or one of the main reasons of Switch success shouldn't be counted or that Switch's success should be downplayed.

Some things that can be seen from this slide:
  • Seems no GaaS from Asobi (last August they trademarked an "Astro Bot" game logo, like the Rescue Mission but without subtitles)
  • , Insomniac, SSM, SPPP, ND, Firesprite, Housemarque confirmed
  • Notice Bluepoint is listed as support studio, they aren't working on their own game (they're in a support role in their current project as did in GoW)
  • "Evolving / Multi-genre" means Guerrilla is working both in SP focused game (Horizon 3) and GaaS (Horizon Online) or games like GT7 or Little Big Planet, with have both meaty single player content and MP GaaS.
  • That last point pretty much confirms that Bend's new IP despite being an open World like Days Gone will feature MP/GaaS elements. Maybe like Ghost of Tsushima (big focus on SP, secondary MP) but adding periodical post launch content
  • It also confirms why Sony didn't include GT as SP focus or MP GaaS focus: because has both

They only have wolverine and DS2 as examples?
Obviously not, they have have a gazillion more specially unannounced and obviously couldn't list them all there. They did choose these games and proportion to highlight that they have been increasing their investment on GaaS and PC versus before, where they were focused on console only.

Btw, today they may announce Astro Bot and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

The server hardware of the PS cloud are modified PS3, PS4 and PS5 hardware that MS can't build. And their cloud gaming uses Sony patented cloud techniques and stuff.

Sony employees were not amused when the CEO went behind everyone's backs and attempted to cut this deal with Microsoft. There was pushback internally.

Crunchyroll is the only at Sony that ended up using Azure.
