Sony should port all their PS4 games to the next Nintendo consoles

Following the same logic of the excellent Sony PC port strategy, that according to many users here has not had any negative effect on their console sales, the Switch 2 will be one of the greatest opportunities for Sony to expand their market as a publisher in their entire history, making their games available on the go to a potentially 150m+ users.

TLoU, Uncharted, Spider-man, God of War, Horizon, Bloodborne, GoT, SoTC, Gran Tursimo, Death Stranding, there is no excuse left not to port all these games to the Switch 2. One could even argue that not doing so would be illegal due to their fiduciary duties as well as anti-consumer and discriminatory for specifically depriving Nintendo owners from their rights to play these games.

Since the Switch 2 will have an SSD they could probably manage to squeeze many ports of PS5 games as well like Helldivers 2, Returnal, Demon's Souls and R&C Rift Apart.

Phil Spencer and MS were ahead of the curve.

Cost porting a PS4 to Switch should be way higher than porting a PS4 game to PC.
Just saying.

Most of things should be rewrite to support ARM.

I'm not even sure if it is viable due the high costs.

Oh, so now porting a game is hard again? When it comes to porting to PC it was easy and cheap, pretty much free money for the taking.

I'm sure Nintendo would be ok helping with these games getting ported to get past that issue.

Doomed Sony only sold 5x the amount of Xbox. Not even Nintendo will save them.

How many consoles does porting their games to PC help them sell? It's all about making all that extra money that comes with porting their games to another platform.

According to this very board, Sony does not compete with Nintendo since Nintendo operate in the very distinct market of portable consoles.

Weird, third party seems to have no problem porting their games to Nintendo consoles (if they are not very demanding). They even find the money to port games that the Switch doesn't even have the power to run.

That's a bold strategy Cotton let's see how it plays out.
What is bold about this strategy? Hasn't it been proven completely successful on PC?

If titles like Spider-man and God of War were able to sell 2m copies each on the Switch 2 it would be a resounding sucess.

I wonder if this is the big reveal Sony is saving for the next showcase.

Yes, that's why Phil bought Activision. CoD on Switch will outsell all the other platforms. The hardcore are all moving to Switch.

COD is a cultural phenomenon in Japan. They're all playing warzone with their guns in Tokyo. I saw it on Installbase.

They were leaving so much money on the table 🤭

I assume this is a modest proposal type post but there really are a bunch of reasons why this would not work.

It's kinda funny how COD fell off completely in Japan once Sony stopped publishing it there.

This is just the natural next step of following the current logic of PC ports and those that claim it's a huge success (and according to the discussion today, doesn't even have any drawbacks). People in this forum really like to point out that Sony does not compete with Nintendo as well.

I am yet to see a single reasonable argument of why this would not work.

This is a troll thread. The reasons why it would not work are obvious, I agree.

Would you mind listing them? Why would it work for PC but not for the Switch successor?

What is so obvious that I'm not seeing?
