That's a problem for Sony. They're the market leader, they should ask for more.
Mind you, if they're waiving exclusivity clause for the sake of getting a discount it works out fine. But generally speaking, market leadership will afford you both a discount + exclusivity (you got the biggest dick of them all - use it properly). We need more details nonetheless.

Imagine giving a shit about what MS/Xbox/Nintendo/PC aka MS fanboys say when making an exclusivity deal for your platform. They don't invest on PlayStation - they invest their money on the pockets of some other corporation. It can't be any more clear cut.

It would have been so easy for Sony to shut them up but they remained silent. The block gamepass clause never existed.
The whole Sony blocks GP narrative came from the marketing deal they had for Resident Evil Village. The deal stipulated the game couldn't be released on rival sub services for a period, which made perfect sense - why pay to market a game someone can get for free on your rival's subscription service?
Meanwhile, this is a clear cut case of MS setting terms to block content from coming to PS+ as a condition of getting that content on XGP day one.
