Sony... Media Vision is right there and have even talked about wanting to do another Wild Arms game

Heard the first game was great, never got to play it though...

Hopefully they get their wish but under Jim, it is less likely..... maybe if Shu can swing it though...

I don’t think Jim is really responsible for green lighting games. I think its mostly up to Hermen.

I think jim is more of a big picture guy. They probably just report to Jim Ryan to sign off on a budget

Well maybe Hermen could get it done so.... if he ever gets off his boat! haha
I remember last year Hermen said more partnerships are coming in the future too ?

Yes, Jim as the CEO of SIE he's in charge of the big picture of SIE, mostly finantials or market stuff, not only first/2nd party games but also hardware, services, accesories, collaborations with other divisions of Sony, etc. There's a lot of people under him in charge of each specific thing.

Regading games published by PS Studios, the guy in charge is Hermen Hulst. He and other top PS Studios folks with their available budget and resources set an overal strategy for PS Studios in line with the overal SIE strategy and are the ones who greenlight pitches from their studios, or sign deals with external studios for 2nd party games.

We know that more old games will be released on PC. When games are too old seems Sony instead prefer doing a PS5+later PC remaster or remake instead of a straight port. So I assume it will depend on which games they want to bring back for PS5 and PC.

Obviously Nixxes won't be enough to port everything and now Bluepoint isn't making remakes, so for ports, remasters or even remakes pretty likely they'll need more help from studios like Jetpack Interactive (GoW 2018 PC port), Iron Galaxy (Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection PC port).

Last year Sony shared that they invested a ton of money for 2nd party deals that I'm not sure now but I'd bet they mentioned it was for games to be released in the next 7 years or so and that it was their biggest amount ever. I assume in the deals for ports and remasters made by external studios were included there.

In addition to this, we also have to remember they have 2nd party deals for the Deviation and Firewalk Games, Death Stranding 2 and maybe some PSVR2 games and maybe the next Arrowhead game. Plus who knows if more stuff we still don't know. And well, they had teams like Housemarque, Firesprite, Bluepoint or Haven that like Insomniac started as 2nd party and now are 1st party games under Hermen/PS Studios.
