Now the probability given that the ABK deal will fall completely through with the decision of the EUC in 22th May, how possible do you think is that Sony will acquire at later date the IP rights of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro?
Sony needs definitely more family friendly franchises. Astrobot is not enough imo.
Knack 3 for sure enough :D

Imagine buying Crash and Spyro and having them symbolically given back to ND and Insomniac on stage at the next showcase.... I'd shed a tear!

I think From Software is the only acquisition Sony need now, if ABK is fully dead...

Take From games off PC, except from mainline Dark Souls / Elden Ring games and make them wait at least 1 year on PC for those.

Sony might need to get Bokeh depending on how well their next game does. Firesprite joined Sony despite being full of people from a studio Sony closed as well, so there's likely no hard feelings.

Tabata’s new studio is also rumoured to be of Sony’s interest. His two projects are both exclusive to PS5 exclusive. Sony will likely publish them. Maybe if both projects are a success Sony could acquire him for PlayStation studios.

Maybe the return of Ape Escape? A crossover with Astro by Team Asobi.

I meant Hajime Tabata. I don’t know if he would work on platformer, more likely some JRPGs.
Tabata’s studio could be potentially Sony’s own “Monolithsoft”. They need someone who can develop world class JRPGs.

Im seeing on Resetera some of the xbox diehards were talking about sony lowering their acquisition forcast from 5.1 to 3 billion something. That contradicts sony's PowerPoint slide where they said theyre look to borrow up to 30 billion dollars for the next few years.

Well I wouldn’t trust the words of Xbox fanboys. Guess we will hear more on Sony’s IR in May 2023.

Maybe Sony should by Sega after all. All those Gamepass deals would backfire on Xbox since now their audience got exposed to Persona and Yakuza.
Sega is too niche and they don’t have really intentions to sell. They bought last year a Japanese basketball team, hotels, resorts and sports halls. They also acquired pachinko/casino. Square Enix has priority over everything before Tencent or NetEase make a move.

Absolutely not. If anything this is sega trying to mend things up with Sony after making all these gamepass deals that didn’t work out and can see which way the wind is blowing in regards to Xbox’s future.

You can always just try to gain buy the gaming part or spin and sell those assets, same goes for Konami, Kadokawa, etc.

My rationale here is that MS tried to buy precisely the the two publishers Bethesda/ABK that were not willing to work with them. Sega seems like the most likely Japanese publisher to be willing to work with MS.

Also, we never really know who wants to sell or not.

Guys I have seen in recent days there was a lot of speculation about Sony’s financials. Also people write a lot of misinformation here. Don’t listen to self-proclaimed “finance experts”. Let’s wait until they have their IR Meeting.
It’s on May 18.

There Sony will clear all open questions/topics.
