As I & many been saying PlayStation days are counting. People keep underestimating Nintendo but when you see many 3rd party release on Nintendo & you have Nintendo owns permanent exclusive choosing Nintendo Switch 2 over a PS6 will be extremely easy not to mention PlayStation games already on PC with the timeframe between ports not being much of a wait or barrier (currently 1-2 years & Sony dumb leadership will cut that down to 6 month to 1 year)

The migration between PS to PC & Nintendo will be massive especially as we get closer to PS6 & Nintendo Switch 2 gets 2-3 years in the market with true permanent exclusive. All Switch 2 has to do is be similar power performance to the PS4. Overall Nintendo console is cheaper, cheaper online subscription & they have true permanent exclusive + more if not all 3rd party support

Sony really fuck up the PlayStation console wall garden & brand. The transition from PS4 to PS5 & PS5 to PS6 will have to be studied.

Oh & Sony should’ve bought Square Enix in 2020 now they’re going multiplat & PlayStation will loose Final Fantasy exclusivity. Hell Nintendo will probably sign off exclusive deal like they did with Dragon Quest

This is why I been saying PlayStation needs to rely less on 3rd party rely less on 3rd party deals of ip PlayStation fans don’t care or grows PlayStation own franchises & become more like Nintendo & crank 5-10 first party game per year do 3rd party deals by licensing out your own ip to increase output from these franchise you own. The transition from PS4 to PS5 should’ve been PS making studios multi team studios to support AAA mainline game & AA spin off games that are $50 & take 2-3 years instead of solely doing & relying on AAA games that take 5-7 where PS only drops 1 major game like in 2023 or 0 major game in 2024. To late now it will take till PS6 for us to see PS studios become multi team since that restructuring would take time to adjust.

I agree that Sony should've bought Square, not just for gaming but for Anime / Manga and merch too.

Square going multiplat won't change much. FF will still be biggest on PS, and the newer FF stuff won't run on Switch.

Xbox will get one or two before Square cuts it's losses there
Look forward to seeing dragons dogma 2 on the switch.

Idk I wouldn’t put it against Square Enix to dumb down a game like FF17 to release it simultaneously with Nintendo.

This just makes Sony acquisition of Paramount that’s worth 27 billion more baffling. Sony biggest division is showing signs of cracks imo.

Big brain move as xbox hardware begins a fade into irrelevance and the customer-base completes its conditioning in game buying reluctance.

Nintendo side makes more sense, as long as the next gen hardware isn't another potato-class toy.

That OP though, lol... what do you hope to achieve with the tinfoil hat rants?

You're far too invested in the demise of Sony to ever make a meaningful, genuine, worthwhile post on this or any other platform.

Now they are going to port to Xbox when the platform is dying 🤡

Square really fell for the FUD (it was a relentless campaign so I get it). Sony is porting their own games to PC so why bother?

Watch people turn on FF16 and suddenly the game is good after shitting on it for months. They're already celebrating as if they never said the game was trash 🤦‍♂️

I also wouldn't put it past them but maybe a different type of FF is what's needed.

I adore Rebirth but that's mostly due to how different it is from VII Remake and even XVI.

Also, yeah...the Paramount deal is weird. Sony should be doubling down on Aniplex and PlayStation

Xbox won’t make a turnaround, the first release of Square Enix with Mana of Vision will prove this. Nintendo Switch 2 won’t be able to run the newer AAA games, even FF7R and XVI would struggle on Switch 2. Dragon Quest will be probably Multi-platform from now on. Asano games and Remaster probably too. I don’t know what’s Sony doing but it’s hard to predict if they will acquire them or not. I think if they don’t acquire them before the generational shift to PS6, they will sadly never buy them. Sony is being cheap like @Dabaus rightfully claimed.

These dumb people think if Sony can recoup the porting cost it's worth it to lose exclusives. Well, this is the result. Sony lost all their partners. They can't make exclusivity deals with anyone anymore.

Square, Capcom, Sega, Atlus, From, Arc Systems. They lost everybody.

they should just become a Software company if they want to continue this moronic strategy of PC initiatives

would have more respect for them then killing off their entire platform slowly like this

Yeah well I wouldn't know if FF16 is any good or not because the demo ran like absolute trash and I decided right then that I would wait for a PC version.
