all it takes is one CEO or exec to have a change of heart and that's it.

Phil potBelly Conman Spencer struck when the iron was hot, right as soon as S-E's leadership changed. Safe to say the old guard didn't like Phil and the green clown posse too much.

This new guy is a wild card. Anything can happen now, he's clearly already taken a fat check from PotBelly Spencer.

We don't know what's next. It could be a nothingburger, or it could be bad - very bad - for real square enix fans.

I knew something was up when Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai all of a sudden got announced for xbox and had a windows logo on the trailer.

A windows logo is a sure fire sign of MS's backdoor dealings. Same happened with Persona.

Now we wait and see what MS will ruin for us next. 🤮
I wouldn't be surprised if that new CEO is a Microsoft plant. They contacted him before to help with the transition like Mike Ybarra at Blizzard.

does feel like we're at a turning point. All the old franchises under MS's control will die, giving birth to new franchises that will take their place. Xbox will never be accepted, not worried about that.

It's already started in japan. Abysmal numbers for Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, etc. While a new market emerges in mobile and Nintendo Switch.

Most of the most popular games in Japan are big titty anime phone games you've never heard of, the rest are Nintendo games.

Strange times ahead. One thing's for sure: MS must be stopped. They are the enemy of core gamers everywhere who love this hobby and industry. Their only goal is to grow by destroying what we love.

Boycott all MS products, including the office suite.
Apple makes much better products.
Xbox is and never will be an option for games.
Skype, linkedin, etc all have alternatives.

Not even kidding. Any time you engage with an MS product, you're putting money in Phil Spencer's hands to further destroy what you love, and take games away from PlayStation and Nintendo.
I just switch to Apple haha.

Doing nothing and doing 12 of those games, with a budget that's MUCH higher than that for single player games, are different.

Over the past few years, Sony lost access to 2 MAJOR publishers and over a dozen big IPs and partnership with Sega, a company they were close with for decades.

In that time, they only secured a few small studios, who besides Housemarque, are all working on GaaS.

This isn't just fearmongering. This is a pattern. It's simple complacency. Sony can talk about "cooking" all they want but their actions speak otherwise.
Yea I think they probably need some major acquisitions and partnerships.

SIE is kinda incompetent rn at least.

Sony needs to buy big shares in these Japanese publishers, so they dont lose them in the future.
Supposedly they cant afford to buy anyone or not want to, whichever it is, they need to protect there own business and keep these Ips secure.

What partnership have they lost?

And what partnership did they have with sega that they lost?
Seriously? All the exclusive SEGA games for decades. Now Sega doesn't even advertise the PS versions of Yakuza or Persona.

Not only that, if their games even get a PS5 patch, they get it later. That's IF.

Sega is now 100% in MS' corner, after decades of working with PS. It's complete incompetence on Sony's part because they chose to focus on shitty acquisitions to work on GaaS.

Again. can't blame MS when Sony's unwilling to fight for IP retention.

They had some kind of partnership with Sega dude.

Yakuza was a PS centric game, been on PS since the first game and mostly exclusive series. Until Yakuza like a dragon was partially a timed next gen exclusive for Xbox Series not PS5.

Persona has also been a mostly exclusive series since PS1. Thats mostly gone and wouldnt be surprised if Persona 6 isnt exclusive like Yakuza 7 wasnt. Another big exclusive not exclusive anymore.

Pretty sure Disgaea wasnt fully PS4 and Switch had it as a region exclusive for awhile. Another series that has always been on PS.

They also lost Quantic Dream, Supermassive, and no news on a Miyazaki Exclusive this gen like Demons Souls, Bloodborne etc. Ninja Theory had Heavenly Sword exclusive and Hellblade timed.

Persona 5, Yakuza 6 and 1+2Remaster, Until Dawn, Detroit, Bloodborne were all decent games at the very least. All exclusives from Directors outside of WWS

So losing exclusivity with Sega and now even being blocked from current gen patches for Sega games doesn't answer your question?
No it doesn't. You said they had a partnership, show me that proof of this partnership.

Everything you described is sega releasing games on Xbox as Phil wrote them a cheque.

Nothing you showed is proof of Sony losing this imaginery partnership.

What’s the point of building up this huge install base if you’re just gonna lose partners and relationships one by one? Like what’s the long-term strategy here if you’re unwilling to invest in your key partners that made you what you are then what’s the point?

Generally if someone has a 3rd party exclusivity for a game there is some kind of partnership
