I'm happy with how Uncharted 4 ended, no need to continue the story.
Sony should give ND free reigns to make a new IP.
Would be a GOTG in making, new Uncharted would prob be excellent no doubt, but it would still be just Uncharted.

It is not a reboot lol
It is a sequel.

C'mon... you guys twist definition just because devs uses marketing works lol
Why isn't it called God of War 4 then? By definition, a sequel must not have the same title as its predecessors.

Soft reboots are remakes or reinventions disguised as sequels.

God of War 2018 is the best example of a soft reboot done right. Metroid Prime is another.

Some game sequels even have the tendency to be a soft reboot with each and every game too.

Gaming is not the same as film in regards to any of this.

Naughty Dog should be free to make whatever the fuck they want. If they want to reboot Uncharted, more power to them.

You don’t get great art by telling the artist what they should or shouldn’t make.

They have multiple teams inside ND and are building more. And they can also codevelop games with other teams, as they always did. They can make a new IP and at the same time an Uncharted game and a TLOU.

Also, it doesn't make sense to ask them to kill Uncharted, it's like to ask Nintendo to kill Mario, Pokemon or Zelda, or to ask MS to kill Halo, Forza or Gears.

If they really want the story with Uncharted 4, they could still add other Nate adventures located chronologically between the previous mainline chapters, or make an origins prequel game focusing on how did Nate meet Sully and some other people from the cast and their first adventures together. Or the first adventure with the girl where Nate is teaching her, etc. A good writer can find ideas that justifies a sequel, prequel, soft reboot or whatever.

Bend and ND helped each other in many games since decades ago and Bend did Golden Abbyss, they could work together in this one as according to Jason Schreier they were. Bluepoint made the remastered Nathan Drake Collection and have many talented folks who worked on many original top tier AAA classics before doing remakes at Bluepoint, they could make a new game or a remake of the first one.

The Sony Visual Arts Service Group team from San Diego spinoff team, before pitching and makin the TLOUP1 remake, they started to prepare an Uncharted 1 remake but rejected because still weren't ready since it required too much design and programming stuff and they didn't have enough staff for it since they were basically artists and animators. Maybe now they hired enough staff and they could collaborate now with ND again to make now the Uncharted remake, or who knows, maybe even a new game. Sony also acquired and grew support teams who could also help outsourcing some stuff.

And well, ND has been working a lot and they have been building multiple teams, maybe they can work at the same time on TLOU Online, TLOU3, a new IP and a new Uncharted (either a sequel, soft reboot or remake). Sony's idea is that their big teams should follow the Insomniac way, who work on 3 or 4 games at the same time to allow them to release stuff more frequently.

When a sequel is a soft reboot that doesn't require to have played the previous ones and doesn't have a numbered sequel, new players who never played the previous games are more open to join the wagon.

Because they moved from numbered sequels? I mean GoW games are not numbered anymore since 2013.

Ragnarok is not called GoW 2.

BTW Barlog addressed it in a lot of integer views… there are 7 GoW games so they choose to move from numbered games after GoW 3.
