It is obvious, other than MLB bringing themselves MLB The Show to other consoles and Bungie remaining multi, the Sony plans have been the same for years, and Totoki's word didn't mention any change.
  • Main focus on their PS consoles, growing their teams to make more games for them. This includes PSVR too
  • Some -not all- of their titles ported to PC. Around two years of more after their original release for non-GaaS titles, maybe day one for GaaS titles. New dedicated teams to make GaaS or PC ports, so their traditional devs can focus on traditional non-GaaS SP games
  • They are working on bringing their IPs to mobile in the future, with new teams os partnering with expert and successful mobile game devs teams to do so
  • Since a decade ago also have cloud gaming, that allows also to play other games made by them on PC and soon mobile or smart tvs too as they said in 2013
  • Adapting their IPs to movies, tv shows and anime to make extra money

As for costs, maybe the next PlayStation doesn't need to pursue more power just for the sake of more power. Maybe the power crown isn't worth chasing anymore, we're already getting to a point where visuals are pretty much "good enough". PS6 should focus on technologies that make programming and game development faster and cheaper in the long run. RT GI AI-enhanced tech, auto LOD/mesh/texture scaling tech, even better decompression tech for various data types, stuff for meta-data, frame generation etc. Al of that type of stuff in a system with even the same base TF/pixel fillrate/texture fillrate/RAM bandwidth of the PS5 would create night-and-day differences in visual and performance jumps and devs wouldn't need to increase budgets so much to produce better-looking and better-running games. In fact they would very likely be able to cut down the budgets a ton.

This is literally giving them the optimal template for a multi-platform strategy that doesn't devalue the console like crazy. Let's see if they take that approach.

While I will not pretend to understand the technical mumbo jumbo, in essence, stop chasing graphics and numbers on a piece of paper ( the power of the hardware) and optimise the development process, I agree. That is where they went wrong with the PS3, as it was very hard to develop on. Doing this could also improve their output of games.
