Holy shit. PC is a dead end. Who thinks this is the appropriate market to target for growth?? Just the software segment of the console market is 5 times larger (assuming there aren't many physical PC game sales so that segment belongs to consoles). Then you have console subscriptions, console DLC. It's a bloodbath.

I asked copilot to draw me a graph representing the relative market share of gaming companies and it came up with this:
OIG3.nlmPPbpBV5MfDXOkabKC

I was expecting a bar graph or a pie chart, not a mix of both with nice colors!
Overall it seems to be a reasonable assessment, mostly red and blue with some green sprinkled in for some reason.

When I asked for the shares over the last 4 years it gave me this table:
Code:
# Console Market Share (2019-2022)

| Year | Sony (%) | Microsoft (%) | Nintendo (%) |
|------|----------|---------------|--------------|
| 2019 | 48.5 | 22.0 | 29.5 |
| 2020 | 47.0 | 23.5 | 29.5 |
| 2021 | 46.0 | 25.5 | 28.5 |
| 2022 | 45.0 | 28.0 | 27.0 |
