Still dont see the point of this remake
Remake of old game like shadow of colosus, mgs3, spyro, crash bandicoot, resident evil 2+3, demon souls etc make sense to me
They offer such a stark and huge upgrade to wow everyone
But this?

This remaster probably cost around 3 million dollars to make and the game itself probably sold close to 15 million copies sold.
If 3 million existing Last of Us Part II owners upgraded, then that would generate 30 million dollars. This doesn't include people who purchase the standalone PS5 versions of the game or people who buy the game again after selling their original copy.
That's how you maximize profit.
Remaking a game like SotC, MGS3, Spyro, Crash, Resident Evil would require way more developers and time, something Naughty Dog doesn't have as they're working on new games.
This also has long term benefits. We might see another boost when Season 2 comes out and people who want to upgrade for the PS5 Pro version.

Why would naughty remake and remaster other devs games?

The game is still new and fresh in our memory
After canceling factions ( in which they ve been workin on it for 3 year)
We expect better news from naughty dog and by that its not another remaster

If they didnt waste too much time for factions or another pc ports, remake, remaster..we should be getting tlou3 trailer by now or at least at the end of year...game released in 2024..and ND new game project should start not long after that

This is just a $10 upgrade. Get over it.
I love imsoniac but their games doesn't come close to naughty dog games, graphically, details, animations and length etc. So comparing the 2 is digenious. Also what about other Sony studios that hasn't not releaee games since 2020?
3 of their recent game getting nominated for goty ( spiderman in 2018, rachet in 2021 and spiderman 2 in 2023) you cant really underestimate them anymore
What naughty dog doing right now is kinda remind me of those constant rerelases of RE4, GTA5, Skyrim ( milking ip to the last drop). Im not saying its wrong that just not interesting thing to do coming from ND i really expect more

That roguelike mode sounds a lot like Returnal and Hades. Hope ND keep leaderboards separate from the eventual pc version - because cheaters, cheaters everywhere on pc.

Ignore this is a remaster. Think they are charging you 10 quid for a new game mode, commentary, lost levels...
It's a bargain.
