I don't think it is true. If a new Metroid Prime was shown and it looked like Returnal, Nintendo fans would lose their minds. Nintendo fans just take what they can get since 2004.

For how bad the Series consoles are, combined with how poor their output of games has been for the last 15 years, selling about 1 for each 2 PS5 sold is actually impressive to me, it's somehow not completely dead.
