Every third party release on Xbox has to deal with rumors of the game being included on Gamepass. I wonder if MS isn't the one starting these rumors to hurt devs and force them into making a Gamepass deal.

That’s actually a good theory. Microsoft plants the seed it is coming to gamepass to make the devs “look bad” by denying it’s not but also an “opportunity” to make them look good if it is later on. Notice how whenever a dev comes out and denies it, Phil’s insane cult attacks the developers.

If people expect the game to come out on Gamepass anyway and decide to wait the dev has a bigger incentive to accept whatever MS is offering.
