Just curious what are negatives of a game that will make you drop it instantly?

-To much dialog and garbage ballerina combat.

I literally tried several times over the years to get into Witcher 3 but could not. The flipping ballerina combat just killed it for me and the constant dialog was a killer.

-Floaty combat where it feels like I'm not making any real combat impact.

Code Vein and literally most Korean games make me feel this way. It's like I'm hitting the enemies but I don't feel any impact and things are to floaty.

-Empty open world, mediocre bosses and not much reward

It took me three attempts over the years to finish this game. The world was just to empty and the dungeons and Kakorok seed nonsense was not rewarding. Also the Divine Beasts were garbage tier bosses imo.

Honorable mention Red Dead 2 with its clunky, slow controls. Dropped it after a few hours.

Mandatory stealth segments that are instant fail if spotted in Action games. Seriously these games aren't designed for stealth, stop putting these segments in action games!

Unskipable End Credits, especially when they are 20+ minutes long. If you want people to read it at least make it interactive like the Smash Bros end credits. Don't force us to sit through 20+ minutes of names.

Mandatory tutorials and constant tutorial pop ups, Seriously ever since they got rid of manuals they have been forcing this garbage onto every game. We don't need a tutorial on the most basic stuff.

Omg you are spot on, didn't think of those. Mandatory cutscenes anf end credits drive me crazy, also tutorials. Also slow walking segments omg so annoying.

-permanently breaking equipment with no repairs (equipment damage is ok if it can be repaired)
-sandbox open-ended game, i hate games where you're supposed to "make your own fun" no fam i paid you, you give me a game, i'm not making my own game
-being too easy
-bad performance/low fps/stuttering
-survival games, ain't nobody got time for that shit
-made by bethesda

How do I say... When I can see the strings?

"Go from point 1 to point 2, back again, now go to point 1.5 halfway between..."

What? I couldn't have done it 5 mins ago on my way back from point 2? Fuck you, game.

I like to avoid 30fps and open world games and for the latter it’s because I’m burnt out on them but I still actively have one or two in rotation. Bad gunplay is an instant nope tho.

1 - Breakable weapons
2 - Escort missions
3 - Repetitive gameplay and encounters (if a game is too easy it can feel this way)
4 - 30 fps in games made for this gen (ps5), I just won't do that compromise anymore
5 - Long\Slow start

1. Too much visual novel esq dialogue with just tons of reading and slow progress
2. lite elements like ragnarock plus .2% frost damage gauntlets
3. Constant and long load screens (Starfield)
4. poor pacing
5. Garbage Characters (forspoken MC)

LOL damnnn those games are fun to me because of the difficulty and rewards.
Agree, for the longest time I was put off by "souls" because of the aura of mystique/intimidation around them but actually playing them is a blast and they're actually not that hard (except for a few bosses) and you can almost always outlevel the content if it's still being a pain

- Microtransactions.
- Daily quest or any mechanic that is clearly aimed at wasting my time.
- Uninteresting story
- Enemy level scaling.
- Bloated game that wants to raise it's length with low quality content.

"souls-like."

I game to have fun, not prove anything.
Wrong mindset, I't so weird how some people take it so personally that these games don't hold your hand and are mind-numbingly easy like most other games.

Mostly what they require from the player is that they pay some attention to what is going on. The people that can't handle getting their ass beat by these game are probably the ones that would benefit the most from overcoming them.

In regards to mtx do you feel the same in terms of it offered in mp games as well? Just curious because I like mtx in mp games where what they are offering is cosmetic. It refreshes things for me from time to time and keeps me coming back.

Yes. I don't play anything that has micro-transactions beyond just giving it a try and I pretty much stopped playing multiplayer games once every game started to use them. Cosmetics are just as bad.

Multiplayer games were drastically better back in the day without these toxic anti-player mechanics.

These constantly changing multiplayer games always end up in a sorry state even if at one point the game was good.
