Problem was th that is regulator scrutiny would be insane. Ps would have the biggest digital market place for games on console and pc. Two essential wall gardens regulators are becoming less comfortable with. Also Gabe has an anti ps bias. At the start of the gen he said Xbox series x was better than ps5 and he’s downplayed ps at other times. As long as he is alive and healthy doubt he would sell unless it’s for an huge ass premium. Sony locking down console and pc gaming could be argue as monopolizing the premium games market.

Seems like you learned nothing from the whole ABK deal, these big companies get to do whatever they want, they even trended to destroy the UK to get their way.
imagine sony buys Steam and starts charging PS Plus to play online for premium games that are not free to play, i would laugh so hard
MS can't have everything, they got lucky with the ABK deal but it won't repeat twice, regulators are on their necks

i want them to buy 100%, i want Steam to cease to exist and become PlayStation, everything molded, all these Steam users becoming PSN users, with trophies, with the PlayStation logo each time they open the launcherI agree with OP, Sony needs to stop losing 30% and get ownership. Valve should also team up with Sony to make their hardware (portable and VR) in exchange of 50% of the company.
The deck and their VR headset look ugly and Sony will give them that premium feel. Everybody will be a winner in that partnership.

their launcher will never be as big as steam, people already built their digital libraries on Steam they resist going to any other launcher, that's why it's the perfect opportunity
