The game is a breakout succes. With rumors of the game selling 10 million in the first month why didn’t PS announce sales for the game. Where going almost 3 month & it looks like the game sold 15 million & yet no announcement. Strange from PS usually they announce game sales especially when the game is a breakout hit, maybe because it’s multiplayer or it’s on PC simultaneously?

Next month they'll announce their report for the fiscal year, when they may have to explain that shut down a couple studios, cancelled a few games and fired like a thousand people. Plus they may not reach some target. If they don't say it, someone will ask about it in the Q&A.
So I assume they are saving this great news for there, to show a huge success of their GaaS and PC strategies, highly outperforming their PC revenue estimate for the FY. And to get the headline instead of "Helldivers 2 becomes the fastest selling Sony console exclusive ever selling over 20M units in 3 months" or something like that (like "over 15M in 2 months").

Sony didn't say no major IP, they said no top selling sequel (GoWR/Spider-Man 2 level). They could consider new IPs as major IP (could be the case of Concord or Cory's IP). And could also include non-top selling new IPs (Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, Convallaria, Lost Soul Aside), remakes/remasters (Until Dawn), expansions of top selling IPs (Destiny 2 The Final Shape) and sequels of non-top selling IPs (Astro, Helldivers).
But they were wrong, apparently Helldivers 2 is outselling both a least launch aligned.

Astro bot maybe Uncharted spin off starring Nathan Drakes daughter? 2025 is looking pack for PS studios first party line up. GOW 1/GOW Saga remake is likely next year celebrating its anniversary.
Can we see Astro Bot, Uncharted spin-off, Concord & maybe another smaller first party this year? That wouldn’t be bad. If we just get Astro Bot & concord that would be depressing & shows PS studios needs to scale up massively to have 3 major games every 4 month which wouldn’t be bad cadence & allow PS to have a longer lifespan & hit there targets year over year

Crazy how believable that sounds. PS5 is all about the bad vibes, keeping the players second guessing if PS5 is where they want to play.
A far cry from the PS4 days and "best place to play", "only on PlayStation" and "greatness awaits".
Probably too embarassed to admit that their internal projections fucking suck and have the industry all wrong, considering they put more marketing into foamstars and suicide squad than this game.
You'll have to wait until late April/early May for the last earnings report of the Fiscal Year, that's where they're going to talk about it.

Has anyone on this site bought a warbond? Like in spend actual money to buy the credits instead of using the ones you get form mission. Maybe this sold well and the microtransaction income has been shit and that is why Sony is not bothering disclosing with giving out sales updates
Sony isn't obligated to state how much money they are generating from MTX. If the game sold 10 million by now that's all that matters. The game is holding its price too and that's more important than MTX two months after release.
