Would there be demand / value in remakes or remasters of the early Gran Turismo games?

No. Lisence nigthmare as well as just a poor use of resources.

GT7 is one of the few games that would actually benefit from a PC release. Make it even bigger, get more lisences, give PS+ players advantages and aditional content and charge PC players for those.

Get the F1 rigths as soon as possible and use Polyphony to make an anual release sharing the same resources with GT.

Each iteration should be an improvement over the last so no need to go back. In theory at least.

I see basically no point.

The cars, modes, tracks, etc are very similar… I should say 80% of the content is similar.

Maybe a better approach is to add some old model/track/car in GT7.

What benefit? Adding some much needed cheaters? 😂

Polyphony and annual release in the same sentence is blasphemy, You want to waste the best developers time with low quality annual slop? They're the best for a reason and it's because they take all the time they need to to get things right.

I want all F1 tracks, just add another studio to take care of the F1 career mode.

PC cheaters can be countered by the option of disabling crossplay. The market for this game on PC migth be there like it was for Helldivers 2 it is pretty much an GaaS already.

I don't think it would be a good idea, even though I know the nostalgia is strong...
But, I think the best route they can do is make a really competent emulator, re-release the games digitally and somehow get them to use modern day wheels/sticks, both 1st party and 3rd party, and I think THAT would do better than a full on remake/remaster.

It's not as simple as "just add another studio", especially not for a studio of Polyphony's pedigree..... that's Phil Spencer kind of mentality lmao.

You're grossly overestimating the market for this kind of game on PC. GT has sold 10m+ on ps4/5 in less than 2 years, and the best selling racer on pc is barely 2m. None of the big racing games have ever cracked 100k ccu, but gt7 still sells well to this day. You went to speed up the death of ps even more for an extra 1m sales at best? 😂 You're starting to think like a Sony exec.

And yes it is gaas, but you think PC players will actually spend money? 😂😂 They'll do what they do with every other racing game and just boot up cheat engine for infinite credits while PS gamers have to grind races for new cars/parts. That's exactly how it is with Forza atm. There probably will be a port in the next year or two, and the game will be worse off for it. And new updates will take even longer because PD cares about quality, and now they'll have to support 3 different platforms instead of just PS4/5. A ton of extra work for tiny gain while also losing a prestige title that's still a system seller.

Why though

Just play the remade maps in GT7 and add the songs on Spotify. Boom GT3 remake

Do it on just PlayStation then, more tracks and F1 lisence. I would pay annually for it.

I would rather see Poly team split into 2 & create a GT game that’s more arcade street racing games focus on car customization & social/community aspect. Like Gran Turismo meets Midnight Club to expand & reach a new demographic for the GT franchise.

That's what Evolution studios wanted to do initially but wasn't allowed to use the GT franchise name, which was probably a smart decision in the end. But with Forza Horizon eventually coming to PS5... I doubt it's necessary anymore
