Would there be demand / value in remakes or remasters of the early Gran Turismo games?

Only for historical purposes, like OG GT was on the PS1 mini/classic.
I think that's the only one were they would look at and consider that wouldn't interfere, same with the PSP title.
Can see 5 Prologue as the first ''HD'' and maybe 3 (or 4) as the best seller from PS2 as they have aged better would be cool but I assume Kaz would be against it.

Although I read somewhere that GT7 is soon to surpass as the best seller, no doubt especially since I see in E-racing communities a lot of Forza players are switching to GT after that disastrous Motorsport.

The graphics and original hardware are what make that experience. Yeah the new games have some changes but it’s mostly the same game. Raising the fidelity of older titles to modern standards would have me wondering why I’m not just playing GT7.

That's what Evolution studios wanted to do initially but wasn't allowed to use the GT franchise name, which was probably a smart decision in the end. But with Forza Horizon eventually coming to PS5... I doubt it's necessary anymore
I still think it would be smart for Sony to expand the GT franchise to a demographic that don’t necessarily like sim but like arcade style racer like Midnight Club, Need for speed.

I mean Sony not expanding GT franchise just means they’ll port GT7 to PC leaving even more reason to get or play on PS console & I would rather see the later which is less destructive to the brand, identity & platform.

Also PS not crating a GT game that compete with Midnight Club, Need for speed, Forza Horizon is a bad decision. Relying on 3rd party or your competitor to take easy money from your platform because Sony decided to not make a new GT game that cater to a different demographic. Read what you said because Forza Horizon might come to PS & in the future PS should not make new GT game to reach a new demographic. Sony should make a GT game that compete with Need for Speed & other arcade street racer games to expand the GT franchise to new community’s & maybe since it’s not a sim racer you can have a cool singleplayer story in a GT game.

Your essentially saying less games & rely on 3rd party this same notion as said with COD people where saying in the PS4 gen how PS shouldn’t make live service games because they got 3rd party partners PS shouldn’t make SOCOM because they have marketing w COD & as we have seen MS was trying make COD exclusive the whole goal for MS was trying to spend & squeeze Sony for f it wasn’t for them having gamepass destroying there game sells on the Xbox platform & day n date PC killing console if Xbox had a business model like PS or Nintendo making COD exclusive would’ve been feasible.

It’s the same thing people say with EVO & PS not needing a fighting studio or a fighting game in EVO because Sony is the default for the fighting scene. And what’s to say Capcom or any other fighting studio like Arc System work gets bought by the likes of the Saudis & they solely focus on Nintendo, Mobile & PC you never know & should never rely on the current status.

Sony should’ve had a SOCOM game that’s a competitor to R6/COD a fighting game whether it’s bringing back PS Allstars to compete with other fighters in EVO & replace Smash a Diablo competitor using the GOW or Demon Souls universe & a GT game that’s a competitor to Need for Speed/Forza Horizon so Sony no longer has to rely on 3rd party or these game raining on the PS platform or remaining it’s quality overtime.

The GT brand is very prestigious and so Sony has to be very careful with it and it's not just highly regarded in gaming. They also don't want to water down the brand. I think their current approach is great and we definitely do not need GT Spin offs..I'm surprised Kaz hasn't brought Bikes to GT however as I remember he once made a Bike game after GT4 and I actually really enjoyed it.

But Sony does need an arcade racer but I am not sure it should be at the expense of the GT franchise name.

Same I expect the next GT (GT8) to have bikers. Make GT the ultimate driving sim including cars & bikes. It’s really the next evolution for GT

Perhaps bringing back DriveClub which isn’t a bad name
