The amount of coping and spinning from the green rat brigade on the gaf version of this thread is quite funny.
Mat said subscriptions are stagnant in US… I don’t think MS had big grows and announcing something like 1-2 million more than last numbers should be really bad to them.I’m still confused about them not updating subscription growth and numbers. They should be up significantly but i guess since the big guys de-emphasized subscription growth in regards to their salaries no one cares.
The writing is on the wall, Xbox surface incoming.Good. And combine with "Ambition to reach more gamers on more platforms." Yep. going full 3rd party
After spending 80 billion dollars, Xbox has FINALLY managed to beat Sony's revenue ...... from 6 years ago HUZZAH!
I wonder what DeekeTweak was thinking when he made this comparison
It’s probably stale. Nothing to report.I’m still confused about them not updating subscription growth and numbers. They should be up significantly but i guess since the big guys de-emphasized subscription growth in regards to their salaries no one cares.
I foresee multiplataform games and extremely poor management.Everything I see about this business screams future third party publishing and services company, not unlike what Microsoft has historically been in the PC and phone sectors.
They’ve never made their own stuff, not for long, and I think this 20 year exception, with one console successful by historical standards, is about at an end.
I really think it’s a question to whether there’s a next Xbox. Being kind, Microsoft will have to think about whether anything will really change from this or last generation. Do they have software that can move the needle? Do they have hardware that can move the needle? If the plan is just to go out there and run the same play, they could genuinely save themselves a lot of money.

Looks if you remove the AB revenue the results are basically flat (+5% in network and services) that shows no real increase in subscriptions.

What are you guys wearing to the xbox console funeral?
Since 2008 really, that's when Phil Spencer was put in charge of Xbox Studios. More than 15 years and the dude didn't manage to introduce a single successful big IP, all while IPs like Halo, Gears and Forza were milked to death and made irrelevant.i also think a big problem with microsoft is they haven’t changed management in over 10 years. The same people that have underperformed for the last 10 years just keep getting promoted and keep getting bigger salaries.
I expect Aaron Greenberg to be running the xbox division in 5 years and Matt Booty to be president
The biggest mistake Microsoft ever made was switching power over the Xbox division from those at the company that were passionate about gaming, to the typical Microsoft employees.Since 2008 really, that's when Phil Spencer was put in charge of Xbox Studios. "When everyone plays, we all win!"one of eksbotz no.1 shill is already revolting againts his owner:
Xbox Game Studios + Bethesda + ABK | OT29 | The Temple of Doomers
Microsoft: "Let's do everything we can so that consumers don't need to buy our consoles nor build a relevant console brand strategy." Consumer: doesn't buy Xbox console. Microsoft: "We sold less consoles than we expected."www.resetera.com

Funny that Infinity the other day was arguing that Xbox executives shouldn't be involved creatively. Pretty evident the corporate, hands off approach has completely failed Xbox - to the point of failure. The biggest mistake Microsoft ever made was switching power over the Xbox division from those at the company that were passionate about gaming, to the typical Microsoft employees.
You can literally see the exact moment of the changeover. Xbox and most of 360, full of great ideas and games, industry leading in some respects. Then it’s Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, the games dwindle down to Gears, Halo, and Forza, Rare is reduced to a Kinect and avatar support studio, Xbox One is a weak TV-add on with, you guessed it, more Kinect. Microsoft starts their usual screwing the customer BS with disc authentication, no rentals or loans, and the whole rest of the mess until now.

Just opened candy crush on my phone ... Xbox has 200 millions + 1 active users now .
