They should hire competent people 🤦

Didn’t they hire the former head of ps Japan operations to run their Japanese partner operations and she’s japanese. Running this website would fall under her teams operation so how the F do they get this wrong.

Not nationality shaming, but I wouldn't be surprised if the person or people responsible for the website update were in the US. Based on over a decade of work experience with global teams, it's usually the US folk that have difficulty telling languages apart. Bulgarian and russian? The same, since the letters look funny. Korean, Chinese, and Japanese? They're the same. Portuguese and Spanish? Likewise.

It's humourous honestly.

& when Sony buys a Japanese publisher Xbox will complain to regulators that Sony has strong market share in Japan when Xbox themselves couldn’t even bother using the proper language text to promote games/consoles

Has to be AI, no way a human would be that incompetent when Google translate exist.
They have a partnership with OpenAI, and ChatGPT can translate to multiple languages. Japanese and Korean do not even look similar, their alphabet is different lol.

Yeah it’s most likely based in the US, but it’s all done by AI because Microsoft is too cheap to hire real translators. Non English speaking Xbox fans around the world have been complaining about awful translations for years. And as AI gets better, Microsoft gets lazier 🤣 so the translations have been getting progressively worse. They don’t even bother to double check.

Oh 💯 AI is responsible for shitty translations, however it would not translate to the wrong language. The moron(s) responsible for updating the page could not tell the difference.

For example, one of these is in Korean, the other in Japanese, and the other Chinese. They all say the same, and they are not in the order I wrote them :D

And stuff like this shows this is why Xbox has trouble. They fail time and time again to be a global brand.

They should have called it the anglobox, Waspbox or five eyes box. At least it's more honest.
