Hello all, Wounded Xbox fan here.

This is something that has been on my mind recently and your input would make for a good discussion.
I know many of you have excellent opinions on Xbox and Uncle Phil
They are not as behind this gen as they were during the dark times of 2013.

What does Xbox need to do in order have a more favorable opinion amongst yourselves?

My main gripe - The slow output of AAA first party, we know they have the studios so where are the games? the recent 'E3' did not bolster my confidence as a fan for the next 12 months of Xbox. Although I will play Starfield and Redfall.
Still nothing from the Initiative, very sad 'live service' from 343. Is Rare even still making new games?

So sound off friends!

Actually care about games. I feel like MS care too much about features, subs, userbase and engagement.
I also feel like Xbox is way too American and marketed for dudebros still.
Also stop making all your conferences about first person games. I feel like every Xbox conference I watch is flooded with this type of game and they are always trying too hard with the marketing.
These are the major painpoints I see with the branding right now.

They need to stop with the "We have the best of the best bla bla" and just show us what they got, Something worth getting hyped over.
I don't care about controllers and super duper console designs.
Good story focus Games.
Fighting Games.
RPGs Western or Japanese don't matter as long as they are or will be good games to enjoy.
Less focus on the dude bro bro dude mentality which i admit got them to sell so well back on the 360 days as they had the games and back then everyone was in there teens and early 20s playing games and it worked.
But now those people have grown up and we are in our 30s+ and what most of us want is a good story / gameplay.
Also the constant GAMEPASS GAMEPASS drivel is just annoying at this point, Those who want GamePass have it already and good for them but thats not what everyone wants.

More games. And good games. Creative games, etc. They can have their own Xbox style, they don't need to emulate what Nintendo or Sony are doing. Just start putting out cutting edge, high quality, fun games.

It's always about software, and will continue to be about software. They fell off dramatically from the OG Xbox, and 360 days IMO, two of my favorite periods.

What needs to change? What needs to change is the fact they don't give a shit about the medium that is video games. Game Pass is a bargain - there is no denying that, but that's all it is. Ever since it took off, GP has actually just been another gateway for MS to make money. They don't care about the industry like they would have you think - not enough to go against the competition on an even playing field anyway.

If they did care, we would be seeing newer, more innovative IPs from their own teams, judging the titles on their merits, rather than buying up whole publishers to lock up the titles behind GP (CoD will fatten that up in no time)

If MS' games actually sold enough through actually caring and innovation, GP wouldn't be a thing.

TBH buying Activision is gonna boost them. And buying Ninja Theory was a good move.

Bethesda we’ll have to see because the main’s team’s output wasnt great last gen. They fell from the glory years of Skyrim and Fallout New vegas.

Im not a fan because of the way MS company as a whole operates but new games like Avowed is one of the keys for success.

New IP’s, managing your teams better and even though I don’t agree with it, buying already established IP is what is gonna save them in the long run.

Players want Classic IP’s, New ip and varied games. MS has good racers, good shooters and now a good few WRPG’S. Online games, they have a couple great ones. Fill in the other gaps

They need games. Good quality, and more features for said games at launch. Some of them seem like Early Access titles.

I wanted to be hopeful since they announced all the studio acquisitions, but they need a more steady flow of games.

Glad I went with my PS5 first over a Series console, but I still like the way they handle backwards compatibility and some other things better.

There is no Act-Blizz clean up
When the deal is final Bobby step down and Phil Spencer take the reign
Isn't Phil like the head of xbox? Which includes xbox game studios, Bethesda and Activision. It's impossible for him to take all of that. But I guess he can appoint someone

In theory they will have 80+ meta games. As consistently as sony's.

Planning/scheduling is a bich.

Well, this how and why competition is the cliche that keeps on giving.

Oh no, I agree with all of that. I also thought that I would have been playing FF16 and seen actual gameplay of FF7:Rebirth by now.

Pragmata seemed far away and now it would have been close. Things didn’t go as planned for anybody.

Basically quality of development teams need a big change. It's not the hardware that's giving Xbox a bad rap. It's the inability to make development teams that are on par with Sony's 1st party teams. I don't know why this is and don't really believe it has anything to do with the teams making PC versions. Bethsoft, Team Halo, etc.. all need to take a step back and change their paradigms. I feel the same way about other 3rd party franchises that are too lazy to push the envelope and be more creative. Instead they'd rather keep churning out sequel after sequel.

This may change at some point or MS may already realize they can't get any better talent than Sony 1st party teams and figure out a way to just coordinate with the teams on their games and abandon Xbox entirely.
