Didn't Phil say that he felt subs for gamepass would never amount for more than 10-15% of the xbox revenue, he does not see GP on console growing much at all.

I don't think Sony are reporting much growth at that level either.

So saying that the growth for these services is slowing down is only logical from there, but he may have insider information.

PS+ has been growing about 1M subs per quarter for 3 quarters iirc. It's still down from the COVID peak, but not by much.

Of course he said that, they tried to scam CMA with it. They killed all retail for it. Always check their actions not words. This snake oil salesman lying all the time.

God, we have welfare overestimating Xbox sales again in the Reeee thread. He's getting shut down by gamingcj hard at every turn, but the overestimation is getting tiring, to be honest.

Reasonable estimates from CJ:

Enter:
Batshit loco from Welfare, with PS5 seeing steeper declines of 55% and Xbox a mere 13-27%

The "fun" thing is that the reason why we can't know about Xbox is because of their heavy use of creative accounting.

People can distort the numbers and paint whatever picture they like.

Xbox is still far behind, so this is hardly a win, they're trying to paint the image of Xbox catching up for no reason at all... Except for people liking the logo or something.

Supply constraints is just funny. You can buy a Series console anywhere in the US. Yes, its as a bundle, but that's Microsoft's way to increase prices without people noticing.

Bundles or not, if demand is bigger, then nothing can stop to sell it off. It isn't like bundles cost 1000$. Somehow PS5 bundles were sold out too in no time.

Xbox being down 50% from march wouldn't yield 130k units sold, march was already down 30% from last year so we're looking at under 100k sold if it really dropped 50%.

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't crack 100 last month, and if it declines to mid 10s of thousands in May. In fact, absent numbers, that's exactly what I'm going to assume they'll sell. It'll be a crawl to 20mil if they even get there at all.

Did I miss a part of the conversation where that was mentioned or seriously hinted at?

And that’s made even worse due to the few people buying Series mainly just subbing to Game Pass and not buying games outright.
My friend who got one for elden ring and for his GF to use gamepass unsubscribed and ended up having to buy elden ring on PC because the performance was so next gen he couldn't handle it.

The GF ende up getting GP for herself, but he got tired after a while, she uses it to play the 360 and og Xbox games.

Man you people love me.

Be real, there isn't enough information from the NPD report to claim one thing over another definitively. We're assuming Switch is only 400K (could be higher), PS5 didn't fall >50% (it's possible, sales trend in the UK is not 1:1 with the US), and that Xbox takes the remainder of hardware revenue (since there is nothing to work with by NPD). Your cries of Xbox overestimation are baby like when GamingCJ didn't even say anything other than Xbox must fall in line with PS5 because it happened in the UK. Europe had Xbox up 19% in April, any of you going to argue Xbox sales are up YOY in NPD?

Also you people need to get your heads out of the sand regarding Series X shortages. You're living a deluded reality that has been proven wrong again and again.

Since coming back in stock at Amazon the Series X $499 sells on par with the PS5 $499. The Forza bundle was floundering in the 60-120 range for the past two months

The initial batch of Series X $499 stock sent to Walmart .com at the start of the month was selling on par with the PS5 $499 until the Series X sold out.

Series X $499 is still in low supply at GameStop and Target, and Best Buy still has it listed as a "High Demand Product". The Series X is supply constrained and as seen by Walmart and Amazon, the weak as fuck Forza bundle is not what people want. Look at the God of War bundle after it went back to $559. People aren't buying it in the huge numbers they were the past few months.

So if there really is such pent up demand for Series X that supply is unable to keep up, what's Microsoft doing not ramping up production? Chip shortages are over my friend
