This contract will likely cancelled. Yes you can always exit an contract (clauses existing for this purpose). PlayStation is hosted on AWS. So the company will likely depend on other provider like Google or AWS. The relationship is too damaged to be fixed between Sony and Microsoft. Sony hates Microsoft literally.

A wise leader would know better than ever trusting such an infamous company in the first place...

Damn Yoshida murdered Jimbo.

Don't take the bait; going by the headline one would assume cloud as a market is also of no concern, meaning one could then say, for example, the CMA's ruling due to cloud SLC concerns was overzealous.

Which is what Microsoft is trying to do right now. The actual content of the article is just Kenichiro going through some of the technical challenges and limitations with maximizing usage of cloud infrastructure, and some examples of things that Sony have done to try working around them.

Another way that article headline could be interpreted is in suggesting any ideas or implementations to limit growth in cloud due to impact on the console market is not needed. What is currently proceeding right now among regulatory bodies? What regulator recently made a decision to block a deal due to cloud SLC concerns? Which people have been suggesting that cloud SLC was actually to simply "protect another console" the whole time? Which website has a parent company that sold off some co-owned London Stock Exchange shares to a certain company currently looking to acquire a massive 3P publisher?

Maybe I'm looking too deeply into this? Perhaps. But a lot of these articles always feel so conveniently timed, don't they?

People need to stop personalising companies. They don't hate. Their execs may not stand each other, but money talks above everything else. If there's money to be made from or with Microsoft, Sony will do it

They were exploring a strategic partnership in 2019 with MS (no longer the case)
" : https://news.microsoft.com/2019/05/16/sony-and-microsoft-to-explore-strategic-partnership/

Sony is now partnered with AWS : https://aws.amazon.com/solutions/case-studies/sony-interactive-entertainment-gdc22-case-study/

The number 1 in cloud is partnered with the number 1 in consoles.

Only the best for the best.

I still wonder if they could have gotten a sweetheart deal with Google and leverage Stadia tech, but AWS is not a bad choice either, obviously.

And avoids financially enabling a direct competitor in the console gaming market the way things would've played out if they chose Microsoft's Azure.

Azure is trash, as are all Microsoft tech. It’s better for them to stay on AWS.

I'm not looking forward to hearing about Microsoft's escalating attempts to force this deal through and the increasingly obnoxious cheerleading for this deal over the next few weeks.

They've always been partnered with AWS. It was a dumb thing to ever approach MS in anyway and apparently the entire company was blind sided by it?

Sony should have went to Google for the stadia tech as mentioned, it's extremely impressive.
