Leakers have started backtracking on Xbox Exclusive Rumors:

Tom from TheVerge says

"I just wanna make it very clear that most folks in Xbox don't know the full details of what Microsoft will discuss next week. So people that are backtracking on certain stuff never really knew either."

Meanwhile NateTheHate says the same thing

"I do want to emphasize that though I heard similar, one should still treat this as rumor.

As noted above, I didn't want to report on it until a release window was finalized -- meaning plans remain open to change.

MS will bring select games multiplat. That I have confidence in"

"I will admit phrasing was poor on the original tweet.

I think discussions were had about taking it multiplat -- hence the reports/rumor. Given the very early reporting & public response, such conversations may have been revisited.

I have no lead to suggest one way or the other"

"People are making wild assumptions that EVERY game is going multiplat -- which is not the case.

Nor is MS going to exit the hardware industry.

The multiplat strategy is a slight shift in strategy, in which SOME titles go multiplat. MS will keep high profile games exclusive."

No one speaking at the moment actually knows anything? Guess we just play ff7 and wait to see the fallout.

When you say a rumor is accurate it's not a rumor anymore but something that will actually happen. Lol. Dude is out here embarrassing himself. He's contradicting himself so much in that post tweet. Clown show.
I think they first get info fed from shareholders, so Philly fight back by leaking info from his divisiob

I gotta say this is already boring. There is no situation with the current MS leadership and culture where Xbox gets turned around and becomes what people want. The product is bad and the brand is tarnished (and not in a cool Elden Ring kinda way).

It's definitely set on a path and we can all more or less see the destination.

I said this on GAF. Tom didn't say insiders are backtracking, he's talking about the insiders who have backtracked.

It looks like Microsoft gave Phil this generation to turn things around and he failed and now they have to step in to make major changes. They're wasting billions of dollars trying to compete with Sony and Nintendo so the best option is to stop and put games on their platforms (at least some of them).

My theory is that they're going to slowly kill off Game Pass because it's just not profitable. I think the final nail in the coffin was the performance of Starfield. It was Xbox's biggest release this generation and it didn't make an impact on the service. Just imagine how Hellblade 2 and Indiana Jones are going to perform when it's exclusive and going to game pass and it has less recognition than Starfield.
