On one hand I like the idea of not having a exclusive hardware and such can allow for more multiplat going on these days but like the actual console exclusives? Idk like the whole concept of the game console for years now has revolved around buying specific hardware for your specific kind of games you've made. Microsoft has done a 180 on that and I don't really know if that's actually good or bad. Its not selling the xbox putting their games on playstation but on the other hand their games might just make more money that way but they sacrifice the sales and don't allow for any meaningful justification to buy the game console which brings it to another question which is if the future is not in exclusivity then what will be used to sell said console? Will they end up being a operating system specifically designed to play your games off of with a premium subscription fee to play online or something of that sort?

Even in the event they did bring to xbox. Xbox players wouldnt buy and demand it be on gamepass. There’s no money to bring it to the platform

I think they've been implying for a while now that console sales are less important for them. I think the only reason they still make consoles is because Sony and Nintendo are never letting Gamepass on their platforms.

Sony's following in their footsteps though. That's what I don't get.

what sony's doing is a much more sustainable approach. they're not devaluing day 1 games. they're not 'giving away' their premium $200M blockbusters for $15/mo. but Extra does a pretty good job muddying the water vs Game Pass. It's not as comprehensive, but you still get a buffet gaming experience if that is attractive to you.

Sony can grow PS consoles sales to 150 million sales like Nintendo, just follow Nintendo not Xbox (Nintendo is able to release 4 if not more 1st party games a year)

1. Didn’t just release 1 first party game maybe 2 in a good year (bolster there 1st party) 2nd & 3rd party is good but doesn’t hit like PS own IP

2. Stop PC port, it’s better to monetize singleplayer games w DLC or Skins then devaluing the console (also the mere ‘potential’ of PS games being ported kills potential sales from Xbox, Nintendo, PS & PC players who would buy a PS console but instead waits or migrate to PC) & yes to get into the PC market you don’t have to spend 1500$ you can just buy a SteamDeck for 500$ SD2 who’ll be similar which plays Xbox & PS games it’s much easier to get into the PC ecosystem

People were completely wrong about the importance of PlayStation.

If no PlayStation game was being ported to PC wouldn't they have sold at least an extra 1m or 2m extra consoles at the very least? I bet they would've sold more and these non GaaS PC ports are setting the world on fire. Now people keep begging for a Demon's Souls and Bloodborne port instead of just buying a $400 console.

In the long run they would make more money not porting games, would require less time and money spend making those games and would not expose them to piracy.

The sales of Sony single player games on PC are pathetic, they would pull the plug now if they had any sense. It will end up killing the platform eventually, they turn PC into a direct competitor instead of an indirect one.

I agree with him. Porting games to Xbox and Nintendo would open Sony's audience to new people. It would be a very easy way to make a few extra million which could be used to fund their studios games.

They are leaving too much on the table, there's literally zero downside to them doing it.
