I don't think so. Terrorflops are one measure, a theoretical one. You have to view the system as a whole. I don't think they are outperforming anything, they are performing as expected, trading blows. The more curious thing is why 2 of the latest unreal showcases (Matrix and Calisto) have the better performance on the PS side, especially RT. We can say that Sony Visual helped with Calisto, even though their job is not to optimize code, but for Matrix they even brought in the Coalition to help them with the demo and still came behind.
Callisto Protocol creator said that Sony helped with only mo-cap.

Wasn't this debunked by the Calisto devs, saying how only the Mocap stuff is where Sony helped?

Which is Sony Visual Arts Services Group helped. And the Malaysia studio. It was mocap and cinematics. I think I was misread - I didn't mean to imply they helped code, I said the opposite, it's just something people can use as an argument.

Serious question here

Is not the Ps5 just obtaining parity with the Xbox series x already outperforming it though considering its 12tflops vs 10.3?
The TFLOPS don't mean much to me unless it's extraordinarily large delta.

Yes, that was known so long ago, It's crazy that the dev had to come out and make this clear. The X fans have been so bitter over Callisto, they have been going in on the devs nonstop. I hope Callisto does well just because....

BTW...Sony Malaysia is simply a support studio....

The new Malaysia studio was founded in Kuala Lumpur as a support studio, working closely with PlayStation’s Creative Arts team based in San Diego, and more specifically the Visual Arts team within it. The studio has 77 employees working on creating character models and other visual assets as well as motion capture and more.

No. I made that comment based on TFLOPS alone. But that means nothing. No need to act like I'm defending the Xbox as a fanboy. I don't even have an Xbox. You guys will have to hold back your assault on setting people straight when another Xbox fanboy joins the site because I'm not that person.

Dude, I don't know who you are but these personal attacks have got to go. I never led some choir about the 12TFLOPS will be domination for the Xbox. I'm not an Xbox fanboy - at all. You are barking up the wrong tree. I'm a PC gamer through and through. Period. And stop with the insults to my intelligence. I have a profession in graphics programming and I do my job well. I'm not an idiot when it concerns graphics.

According to what Oliver discovered in his tests, it's no wonder DF has not posted a new video. If the XBOX was fixed with better RT and better framerates over PS5, it would be posted days ago with some gloating.... They are probably waiting for the devs to patch it further or downgrade the PS version....

RIght now the word on the street is W3 Next-gen version. It was released today. I'm anxiously awaiting benchmarks as it's using the most crucial aspects of the RT pipeline - lighting. Let's see if CDPR reaches parity with the next-gen systems.

Well I wanted to post this in the other thread, but Series X's woes continues over PS5 there. From what I noticed in the Analista video, not what he said. PS5 seems to have better reflections there too, PS5's lighting pops much more over Series X to me, yet performs a bit lower as a result, did'nt check tearing. On the flip, performance mode runs much better on PS5 and again I'm seeing the reflections and overall lighting seems better on PS in that mode too.

PC seems to enjoy some more RT options, but I can imagine it is just there to max out modern GPU's so people can somehow justify or gloat on the exorbitant GPU prices these days. Analista did note some bugs in PC reflections however and that RT and hairworks don't always gel so well.

It shouldn't be a problem for me to quote what is claimed to be true from both Sony and MS. That is, XSX does indeed advertise 12TFLOPS while the PS5 advertises 10TFLOPS however they came up with those numbers. I'm not coming up with those numbers out of my ass. Don't shoot the messenger.

And why would that be wrong? Being able to use more GPU bandwidth to allow for more RT features is what everyone would like to have this generation. RT reflections has been the only feature for several games on the PS5 and it seems to be a popular feature that many people enjoy. Why downplay it because it's not available for the consoles in W3EE?
