That Tekii guy needs to have several seats. Software sales increased from last year. First party alone. This doesn’t even include 3rd party games

To be fair, there is a trick: unlike previous years now the Bungie revenue is also included as 1st party revenue, in the same way that all the other studios acquired and with a completed acquisitions are also counted as development costs.

He even read what Sony said?

Profit was down due Bungie's acquisition costs and R&D… they said the R&D costs were due the love services games to release this year.

That was already expected and remembered every quarter.
This year they also had the PSVR2 launch window R&D+marketing costs and more acquisitions, so more 1st party development costs. It's obvious that their profitability was going to be smaller this FY/quarter.

Mochizuki, as always and as usual in Bloomberg lying and spreading FUD all over Sony.

Why are they hiding PSVR2 sales?
Today they only revealed the main basic fiscal year highlights. Almost a month from now, May 18th they have the Corporate Strategy Meeting where they go more in-depth detailing more the results and specially plans, strategy and forecasts of every division.

They may talk about it there, but maybe not. With PSVR1 they were happy with its results but didn't share them frequently. VR is a nascent tech/market so its numbers aren't stellar, so pretty likely they won't share them. In addition to this, it's an accesory and rarely show accesory sales numbers. They share the console ones.

Regarding acquisitions:

• Regarding capital allocation, we have lowered our forecast for operating cash flow for the cumulative three years, the primary source of capital, to 2.5 trillion yen from the original plan of 3.1 trillion yen mainly to reflect an increase in working capital in the G&NS and I&SS segments.
• Capital expenditure is expected to increase from the initial plan to 1.9 trillion yen with 0.4 trillion yen mainly allocated to image sensor capital expenditure and server investments in Corporate R&D and G&NS.
• In terms of strategic investment, since we decided to increase working capital and capital expenditures, and in consideration of the current M&A market environment, we decided to reduce the amount from the initial plan of 2 trillion yen to 1.8 trillion yen.
• To grow over the mid to long term, we will continue to invest. However, in the short term, we aim to carefully assess even more than before the valuations and timing of investments given the recent changes in the market environment.
• We plan to compensate for the decrease in operating cash flow due to the increase in working capital mainly through short-term borrowing and to maintain a total allocation of 4 trillion yen
Meaning: they hired and acquired a lot of people recently and also increased their bet on PS Plus (which includes cloud gaming) and in GaaS development, which means higher costs of manpower and servers. To compensate and considering the current M&A market, decided to decrease a bit the initial their initial plan of spending 2T yen to 1.8T yen for the acquisitions+investments during these 3 years cycle.

They'll continue investing to grow in long term, but in short term will be more careful with their investments due to market changes (maybe they mean that CMA and FTC got more aggresive blocking big acquisitions?).

Seems very close to reality... from the hardware revenue posted plus the -30% yoy the max Xbox can have shipped was around 1.5 million units.
I'm as a optimist Xbot guess the shipmenet was more around 1 million.

I just wonder if some sales analyst mentioned hard numbers this morning.
People are using Xbox hardware revenue.
If everything is Series consoles the max it can reach last Q was around 1.5 million.
But that revenue includes accesories like controllers.
So the number is below 1.5 million.

I refuse to believe Xbox sold any more than 1 million. It does at best like 250 k a month in the US and sales have collapsed WW. Where are they making up the difference? 1.5 Million isnt possible IMO.

Well we are talking about shipment.
My personal guess is around 1 million shipped too.

Seeing that they expect 'improvement in hardware profitability' for this FY, I think that this debunks a PS5 Pro or handheld this fiscal year. Could be a hint of a Slim/attachable disk drive version or part of the natural console life as one of minor with minor hardware revisions.

The only reason Microsoft's hardware sales are down 30% is due to them consoles not being available. As we all know, bundles don't count, so that's that. They have actually sold 24M consoles. Don't believe me? Here, look at my math and all the reputation I've built based on intuition:

Did you see it? Microsoft has actually sold 26M Xbox consoles, just look at their quarterly revenue! We all know 3x9=27, and if we divide that by PI and apply the Fibonacci sequence to their 2012 earnings, we'll all reach the logical conclusion of 28M consoles sold.

Additionally, if we extrapolate the quantum polarity of their earnings in 2016 and find the values in the plank scale, you'll see that Microsoft has actually sold 30M consoles!
