They have a very real shot at surpassing the PS4, actually. The fact that they're almost on-pace with it after a global pandemic and the shortages that came with it is kind of amazing. (To say nothing of MS ironically paying for chip priority for their hardware.)

To most companies. The whole reason they sell units is to make money in the first place. That's always going to be the top metric of success.
