this thing is going to cost 700 at least, and i love it, time to break this molde that consoles can't be priced at more than 600
I doubt it will be that expensive.

Word is the new SoC is made on N6 which is cheaper than N7 was back in 2020.
Sure, it's probably a bigger chip maybe ~350mm^2 large, but odds are this new "Trinity" SoC on N6 is cheaper to produce in 2024 than the original Ariel/Oberon chip on N7 was back in 2020.
Price-per-GB on GDDR6 is also lower despite the faster clock speeds.

In the end, I doubt the PS5 Pro is going to cost more than $600 / 600€, and I think we might even get a surprise from Sony and get it for 550€ (same price, higher performance).

Don't look at PC GPU prices for this. They don't have the luxury of Sony's economy of scale, and Nvidia/AMD are still riding the massive GPU price hikes of the last crypto craze.

It will.be no more than $600. They know anything above even fot enthusiasts will cause a huge potential sales drop.

$700, get a second/third job (adjusted for inflation) job to pay for it. Arrogant Sony is back baby.

Not after failing to meet their annual console sales target by 15%, they're not.

If anything, the new PS5 Pro hardware seems pretty conservative in raw performance.

We'll never hear about 12 Teraflops again. :ROFLMAO:

To think that in 4 years they pretty much released jack shit for it and got outclassed by the PS5 and now the PS5 Pro will be in another league.
We are also not going to hear about your 800 PC ever again if those specs are true.

You still haven't understood my aproach to PC or the purpose of a budget PC.

If you are interested in playing game with mouse & keyboard, high framerate 1080p gaming, legacy games, etc, it doesn't matter that a PS5 Pro hardware will have better hardware for $700 than what a PS5 Pro or PS5 would have for their prices.

I'm not a PC elitist at all, I think expensive GPUs and games that require expensive hardware to run well. PC strength hasn't been AAA game in a long time.

PC has it's problems and so does PlayStation, no matter how powerful the PS5 is going to be you'll likely still be stuck at 30fps and 1440p on RDR2 because Sony and Rockstar don't care.

A budget PC + PlayStation is a great combo.

PS5 PRO SPECS LEAK ARE REAL, RELEASING HOLIDAY 2024

ps5-pro.png

Insider Gaming can confirm that the leaked PS5 Pro specs leaked earlier today are real and the PlayStation 5 is still tentatively targeting a 2024 holiday release.

Speaking with sources, who wished to remain anonymous because they were not authorized to talk about company plans, we can confirm that the leaked documentation from the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead is real, despite the criticism of the leaker and the leaked specs. Insider Gaming can confirm that the documentation leaked is from a PlayStation developer portal, which was sent out this week to a wider band of third-party developers.
In early 2023, I reported via Key to Gaming that the PS5 Pro is under the codename ‘Trinity’ and will be targeting improved and consistent FPS at 4K resolution, a new ‘performance mode’ for 8K resolution, and accelerated ray tracing. In addition, it was reported that Trinity will have 30 WGP and 18000mts memory.

Today’s leaked documents also confirmed:

  • Rendering 45% faster than PS5
  • 2-3x Ray-tracing (x4 in some cases)
  • 33.5 Teraflops
  • PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) upscaling/antialiasing solution
  • Support for resolutions up to 8K is planned for future SDK version
  • Custom machine learning architecture
  • AI Accelerator, supporting 300 TOPS of 8 bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point

Scalpers will be at the ready.

I wish Sony would just make it available to ps plus members on ps direct and have other restrictions to make it difficult for the scalpers.

I'd buy just so I can play Rebirth at 60fps without a yuck image
Then you find out they won't release a patch. I learned my lesson with the PS4 Pro and PS5 when it comes to that stuff.

I'll almost certainly get one before GTAVI if these specs are real if it costs around $700. If I'm going to be playing on the PS5 I might as well pay extra to play on the PS5 Pro instead. Seems like a good deal.

Personally I think PS5 get a price cut to 400 USD and this gonna price at 500 USD with a disc drive ofc.

Also no CPU upgrade?

A $100 difference makes absolutely no sense. $200 difference at the very least.

Much faster CPUs are hardly going to matter in this case, everything is going to be made to run on the base PS5 anyway. It's pretty easy to see it this on PC.

This seems pretty well thought trough, they are going to attempt to fix precisely what has been holding AMD back (ML/upscaling and RT).
