I don't agree with that because if no one was buying games on PC, companies wouldn't be porting their games on it. Sooner or later some suit over at Sony will say "Helldivers 2 sold a lot on PC and that was day one, we should make Spider-man 3 day one too" which will make the console lose its identity.

What Sony gamers don't understand is that their gaas strategy relies on PC gamers as much if not more than Sony gamers (as shown by Helldivers 2 player split) They can't backpedal on gaas.
Their "prestige" userbase is not enough to have decent growth anymore.
Picture when they try to integrate mobile as well. Will their infrastructure be ready?
As I said before, Sony was arrogant enough to think they could pull this out with little work and that the PC userbase would eat their games up like their userbase does. Be humble and understand this is a different market. Fix the issues and get better for the next gaas launch. PC players can whine but if the games are good they will eventually give in.
Look at from software. Durante made the dark souls prepare to die port work on PC. That POS port was locked to 720p 30 FPS. Now the main souls userbase is on PC and their ports are a lot better.

this doesn't mean they won't impose PSN account link, they even state they'll keep updated on future plans, my guess is... they canceled the May 6 update and the May 30 expiration date to link account, and they will now expand PSN to all of the countries where Steam is avaliable to then... and only then impose PSN integration for real so people will not be able to complain anymore
