Xbox BioWare trusts its players and therefore Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not use Denuvo

I've really been on the fence about this game. Obviously, I'm always onboard for a good RPG, but the gameplay they've shown didn't really draw me in the way I'd hoped. I bounced off of Inquisition (which I do feel I need to give a second chance at some point). The way I'm feeling now is...

News Spider-Man 2 Announced for PC

They've had a bit of a rough go at it with some releases for sure. That said, I think some of their titles did pretty well, like Helldivers, and Astrobot. I do appreciate that they've been porting more of their titles to PC, so PC gamers like myself have a chance to play them. I don't know that...

Discussion SBI: Namco game Unknown 9 lives up to it's name. Release imminent and no-one bats an eye.

I usually only see extreme levels of divisiveness on topics like this on gaming forums, from grifters, or in certain discord communities. I think most people who game are largely insulated from it, and will continue to just buy games their friends are playing, or which have received strong word...

Same. This is the best ending.

News Spider-Man 2 Announced for PC

Perhaps. But even if you just consider the hardware, both companies seem to be targeting different gaming demographics. Switch is a largely portable system, designed to emphasize not only docked gaming, but also gaming on the go. PlayStations, and forgive my assumption here, as I do not own...

I thought they announced it out of the New York Comic Con.

Things look pretty grim for Firewalk after this.

Discussion What Are You Playing Right Now?

The matches were a nice nod to RE1 for sure. I just finished The Evil Within about 30 mins ago. Overall a decent survival horror. Second half of the game and particularly the final fight were a bit overwhelming, but not too bad. I think I'll hold the sequel until next Halloween season.

News Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Will Be 30+ Hours of Main Campaign + Side Content

I feel like they've been fairly upfront with the game. Even the reveal trailer included some gameplay footage. They're also acknowledging themselves as a newer studio, and pricing the game at a $50 price point to reflect that.

Discussion Why do single player gamers like high stakes stories but...

But many games in this genre, including the ones I mentioned, also feature options to lock your game to a single save file, which cannot be manually reloaded outside the title screen. In some scenarios, when your party members, or your player character dies, the game immediately auto-saves over...

News Bloober Team has announced Cronos: The New Dawn, coming 2025.

I was genuinely impressed. I think they've got to be a lock in for any awards this year related to sound design.

Well, to be fair, AC6 also had the benefit of being a pretty great game.

I see the Japanese physical consumers have remarkably good taste.

News Spider-Man 2 Announced for PC

As a PC gamer I'd be very excited if this were true, but I suspect they'll still do staggered releases (perhaps with shorter cadences).

Discussion Why do single player gamers like high stakes stories but...

I'm not sure I understand the premise of the OP's post? There are many games with high stakes gameplay built in. Just to name a few, things like Pillars of Eternity, Divinity Original Sin 2, Darkwood, etc. all offer options for permadeath, or permanent loss of party members. In some cases...

News Spider-Man 2 Announced for PC

It's definitely on my short list for most desired PC ports from Sony, along with Shadow of the Colossus, which I've always been really interested in playing.

News Spider-Man 2 Announced for PC

I would really like for the Demon's Souls port to finally come to PC. Feels like it's been ages. Though not quite as long as other Fromsoft affiliated titles, which need not be mentioned. (Hint: I'm not talking about Deracine)

News Spider-Man 2 Announced for PC

Not the worst timing, tbh. I'm pretty sure fiscal Q4 is January~March in Japan, so this helps get them a bit of a revenue bump for the year.

News Spider-Man 2 Announced for PC

I'm optimistic there will be some course correction from Sony as a publisher. They definitely doubled down too hard on live service offerings, with some of their more public failures in that space, I'm hoping we see a re-focus on high quality single player games. It's not even like they need to...
