Why should they? Ember Labs is not a GaaS studio nor a mobile studio, no reason to buy them if they don't have the potential to get a piece of the Chinese revenue, the biggest gaming market.

I don't care for PC, but I'm already going to skip buying day-1 1st party games because of the drop in quality due to multiplatform development, won't be an early adopter for new hardware and won't renew my PS+ subscription if they don't change course once my sub expires in 2027.

Don't give up! There are some pretty good YouTube videos on how to beat the VR challenges or the bosses on Hard "easily". You can also re-play one particular side-mission to quickly grind to max character level in seconds and the most tedious materia with a few replays of the same mission.

I give you a summary: In order to make more money, they want to gather to the Asian PC and mobile market. Going by some opinions in this thread, it's ok if they shit on the current userbase by decreasing the quality and quantity of their games or even make games in genres that are usually not...
