good question, I was never able to play more than a few minutes in any of their games I tried in the past.. Pc or console

The success of Bethesda games is something I just don't get. To me they all look like Morrowind and that was impressive for it's time but clearly deeply flawed when it came to gameplay. Story telling is equally awful, all that is left in the end is size.

I played 3 TES game to completion and I can't remember a single character or event in the story other than the most silly and stupid stuff (like becoming the leader of every organization in that world without it being acknowledged in any meaningful way).

There are good Bethesda games and franchises. Folks need to stop the BS just cause Xbox now owns it. Mind you they were on a trash run of duds but that is mostly the case with big pubs these days.

Doom got the best revival you could ask for, even if not perfect. Skyrim was good for what it's. The duds come from the Fallout franchise, and Machine games IPs. Arkane has always been mid.

As for the topic: the E3 show itself was one of the best examples of great marketing in the industry ever and this example should be taught in Marketing 101 classes at college... that video was just a salt in the wound double tap. The show however decided that gen - the right policies, the right hardware, the right price, the clear communication, the differentiation from the competition and the games. You didn't need anything else if you were an undicided then as opposed to a fan whose choice is dictated through a biased lens.

Well Phil kept the brand alive by gas lighting his cultists but I definitely wouldn't call Xbox shows over the years good.

The problem is Sony set themselves up this time. After such a long time without a showcase, all eyes were on them. I always felt they didn't need a showcase till after Spiderman came out.

All we needed this summer was a SOP for 3rd party / indies and a Spiderman State of Play in September.

Unfortunately they gave Xbox an easy win this sunday, since they now don't have to do much to seem competent.

That was my comment they are currently in the period of them baking their games in the oven. Compared to last year and the previous, year this is definitely a slow year for WWS.
