UE5 games will be 30 fps on consoles , most of them anyway
and they still have on-demand shader compilation on a ROADMAP?

Decima has definitely demonstrated gameplay diverse titles….

FPS - Killzone
Open world - Horizon, Death Stranding (both worlds apart in gameplay and aesthetic too)
Cinematic Adventure - Until Dawn
VR - Rigs
I guess they build Decima to multi uses thinking already in allow it to be used by others studios.
In-house engines most of times are very specific and specialized.

Didn’t epic only a few days ago announce they have now achieved 60fps Nanite on console?

Time for a new demo. I can’t believe they pulled the Matrix from circulation. Any who hadn’t claimed it alread, cannot - completely delisted.
No Nanite… they archived 60fps in Lunen.

Consoles will have always precompiled shaders.
Exceptions are some Xbox games using GDK that dev didn’t brother to build different versions and just delivery the same compilation on demand without precompiled options for Series X/S.

Shader compilation is a non issue in a fixed hardware… you can include in that case all consoles and Steam Desk.

In any case it is nice to see Epic trying to fix that issue for dynamic hardware/drivers (PC).

  • Improved performance optimizations in High scalability mode with the goal of achieving 60 fps on consoles


That's awesome. Hope it's actually Series S for the target, because that would mean even better results for PS5 & Series X.

But it's probably a roadmap point focused on 60 FPS for PS5/Series X.

Need a resolution.

Gonna guess 1440p; seems to be the "sweetspot" resolution for PS5 & Series X this gen with DRS swinging between that and 4K.

Bend might keep using UE because they're using the framework from Days Gone for their new game and the customizations are already there

Well deserved. Not surprised they won. HFW is the best looking console game period. The only game I’ve played that comes close is Ratchet and Clank on the PS5. HFW is a technical masterpiece. I’m shocked at how good-looking it is every time I boot up the game.

Such a beautiful game, I didn't realize how big this damn game is either and I have only seen half of the discoverable map so far.
Oh yeah it's a big game, have you gotten the flying mount yet? Flying through the world is majestic and soothing 😇

Nah not yet, Im looking forward to using it though. There is so much variety and ways to go into a fight, its always fresh.
The only goofy thing I have seen is when Aloy's arms act like rubber bands when hanging from something lol.

Yeah the combat is really good and I like using the environmental traps when they're there. Take it all in and enjoy it bro 🤘

Rumors said they were using Decima, which honestly makes sense, as they can get the help of many internal teams that have worked with it.
