This is exactly why i am getting away from PC Gaming.Good points. I used to be that distracted pc player. Everything started to be distracting at some point with raise of the internet and yt/streaming.
I find myself easier to focus on a game alone when I play on a console. And on pc, technical stuff can also be distracting for me.
I realize it's more personal thing but it is what it is
Yep said it for years. PC gamers love niche genres like RTS, sims, survival, and also live service games. But AAA dont tend to do that well outside of Soulslike, CD Projekt Red, and certain RPG franchises. AFAIK even sports games generally don't sell that well.AAA gaming on PC is dead, minus a very few exceptions. I get XVI is too out there for some FF fans but the same goes for huge IPs like Resident Evil. A user base the fraction of the PC one, buys so much more.
Let's see if it does 3 million in it's first week like the other topic stated on a base of billions/ 130 MAU on Steam.
It was all about Square and the list wars for the detractors not the actual game.

On top of that PC gamers are more patient than console gamers and love a sale.
Yeah, let's just forget about all the games that does well on PC. Persona, Yakuza, Granblue Fantasy, fighting games like Street Fighter, Dragon Ball, Resident Evil, Dragon Quest, FPS games, all the different indie games that blows up on PC.
But sure, a delayed port of a polarizing Final Fantasy games negates all the other successes.
How much are the sales for Yakuza and Persona, dragon quest etc sales? Ive never seen official numbers.
Final Fantasy 15 was ported to PC after 2 years. Scored worse than Final Fantasy 16 and doesnt have traditional combat.
Why did that sell better than this? Price point? Sales? Lack of PS exclusive hate spreading to make it seem like a worse game?
Some games sell well, some games dont. Same as consoles.
One thing is for certain, the narration that games have to be Multiplatform to survive and PS needs PC ports to keep its studios going is absolute nonsense made up by non console fans and xbox fans.
Neither need each other. Sometimes ports helps. And for Sony for sure, it doesnt help much, especially with the fanbase. Nintendo fans would be acting the same
You have to interview the companies like Sega, Square, Bandai etc. about why they are pushing for more PC day 1 support if PC is so unneccssary for them.
You are right but just a point here.No1 is saying its so unnecessary. Its just the whole console or platform exclusives cant survive talk is overblown clearly.
Theres a reason Nintendo, Rockstar, Playstation and other studios like even Valve have timed or complete exclusives. And why some of the biggest sellers have been exclusive or timed exclusives
You are right but just a point here.
Rockstar does the best business to sell games in the market.
They release first on consoles, after a long period do a enhancement and release on PC, after another long period they do another enhancement to new consoles, after another longer period they do portable / mobile ports, etc.
They are master class to make consumers double, triple and why not quad dip.
But they need all platforms to make it works.
Consoles, new consoles, PC, Portables, mobiles, etc are all needed to reach their goals.
Ohhhh I almost forget… they added streaming services in the pack… GTA up to IV were launched to Netflix
They basically maximize all sales in all platforms.
Anything Rockstar show us is that all platforms see important but PC (or others platforms) and Subscriptions day one are really bad business.
I'm looking for news sources for specific game sales on PC only and it's a little difficult, but I found these:How much are the sales for Yakuza and Persona, dragon quest etc sales? Ive never seen official numbers.

Yeahhhhhh i'm not gonna lie to you. I have no idea where you got the idea that a PC Gamer is someone who isn't a gamer and is lonely/depressed. That very idea doesn't make any sense, it can even apply to console players.PC Gaming Culture is inherently different from Console Gaming Culture.
PC Gamers often want a Game as some sort of background noise, while watching YouTube/Netflix and/or sit on e.g. Discord, so that they have someone to talk to.
Many (Online-based) PC-Gamers are just lonely people, who don't even enjoy Videogames, but use them the "cool" thing to do, and have a chance for meeting people over them.
Just look at MMORPGs, which are basically glorified Chatrooms with a Skinnerbox attached, justifying parasocial interactions.
Console-Gamers on the other hand are more likely to pursue the goal of simply "sitting down and playing".
They have no Problem with focusing on a videogame solely while enjoying themselves, without Multi-Tasking 20 other applications on a second monitor.
The Question is: What precisly is the definition of a "PC Gamer"?
- Does every PC Gamer have a system capable of running AAA Games?
- Does every PC Gamer has the interest in frequently buying Premium Games?
- Does every PC Gamer even has the money to buy Premium Games?
Meanwhile, on Console, every customer is prepared for any game releasing on their platform!
Piracy is not a thing (except on older modded systems MAYBE), so they know it is either buying or not playing.
With a Console you know what you got, and even more important: WHY you got it!
PC-Gaming is more like: "Yeah i could play a online-videogame, because everyone does it, so i should too...".

Remake had 13k top on steamdb. But it was on epic before that... doubt it had more players there.PC police force is making a lot of excuses rn. I want to see how FF7 Rebirth performs on PC compared to the Ps5 after all the talk about Rebirth this year and it's "poor sales".
I'm not forgetting anything you plum, I'm talking in general.Yeah, let's just forget about all the games that does well on PC.
