It’s funny watching the Nintendo and Xbox fanboys on GAF mad that Edge have it a 10.

Resetera has been trying to downplay the game since release. The entire OT is full of Nintendo stans saying it's not as good as mario because of the move set. Astro Bot is simple fun that fluid to control, idk why they are acting like simplicity is bad.

SMB literally had two buttons and other than the fire ball and the star was limited to jumping on enemies. One of the greatest games of all time.

Exactly.... Odyssey is my least favorite Mario game despite being the one with the most control. I still like the game but, I'm not gonna sit here and act like that was that much of a positive for it .

It's enough that it's a 3d platformer, but now it must also feel identical to mario? feels like it's said in bad faith.

It's because iconera tweets threads which gain traction in some of the worst places on twitter. The fanboys see the threads and decide to create accounts.

It's a good strategy to promote growth, but there is a sickness happening in gaming right now due politics and the fragile state of the "console wars" where it is clear that Sony is about to have a near Steam like monopoly in the "hardcore" console space.

The PS5 Pro is simply an extension of that, as is Astro Bot.

The PS5 Pro represents not only every 3rd party game playing the best on PlayStation, but even Microsoft games.., everyone knows Microsoft is going fully 3rd party, but that bubble of denial will burst when Halo is announced on PS5.

Astro Bot is a referendum on the idea that PS5 doesn't have any games. Unlike Helldivers 2, it's a PS5 exclusive and it's fairly likely to win GOTY. If it doesn't it'll probably be beat out by FF7 Rebirth... yet another PS5 exclusive. Other contenders include Wukong, which for now is a console exclusive and potentially Metaphor, but I don't see that happening.
